Paperchase

I quite like Corsair's cases but recently I've been leaning towards Fractal cases. They look so clean.

Aerocool Xpredator. I wished I did enough research for my casing, I would have had it now instead of CM 690 II

Define R4 is a nice, sexy looking case. Current case I'm using is a Lanboy air - I love the mesh design and customizability. So far, dust has accumulated only on the outside which should be an easy clean; I'll check the inside after a longer period of continuous running.

I love the Obsidian series from Corsair, they all look amazing. But my favorite case atm is the Define R4 Black Pearl Windowed.

I have 3 favorite cases:

Cooler Master HAF 912 (50 dollars)

Corsair 400r (86 dollars)

Cooler Master CM 690 II (87 dollars)

Cases like the Corsair 800D or 900D makes no sense to me because:

1) They don't actually perform that well, especially not for air or closed loop water cooling like most people use them for.

2) They are horrible value.

3) They are so big and heavy they become extremely unpractical.

I've had three friends buy the 800D case, and all of them have regretted it after less than a year, and changed it for smaller cases. The three cases I mentioned above on the other hand are all excellent value, has all the features 99.9% of people building computers will need and they look pretty good if you ask me (the HAF 912 isn't a looker, but not bad either). Perfect cases.

I agree with all three points about the 800d but the 900d isn't bad value really compared to other cases of its size and it is designed for custom loop it annoys me when people buy them and put a h100i in them, although the 900d actually has great aircooling too

This question has been asked a million times so I'll just copy and paste my answer:

Caselabs anything... if you can fill it up STH10 but for most systems, the Merlin (SM8)

STH10_1__20554.1349967163.1280.1280.JPG1__42359.1347319223.1280.1280.jpg

For a more "reasonably" priced case, Corsair 600D or Fractal R4 (kinda hate those massive handles on the side panel on the 600D and the plastic bits on the R4).

650d_a.png

That said every build has a different case that goes with it depending on budget, theme, where it's going to be placed, who's going to own it etc. so I don't really have any favourite case, but I usually like the simple elegant look so I chose these.

I'm also starting to fall in love with the Lian Li external aesthetics, but the terrible cable management and naked metal internals are a deal breaker.

Well someone from Corsair said the 900D was good for air cooling but I haven't seen anyone actually test it. It's a huge case and only has three 120mm fans and a single 140mm fan. I doubt that they are enough to move all the air in that case quickly enough. Even IF it is good for air cooling, it's still a ~350 dollar case which is very heavy and big, and in the case of air cooling, doesn't offer anything over a ~100 dollar case.

I like my Switch 810, but if I could have any case ever made it would have to be the TJ07. Great layout, really customisable, just awesome.

That said, second place goes to the Corsair 600T. In white. Probably the best "fit it and run" case there is looks wise.

Edit: http://www.bit-tech.net/modding/2011/12/23/mod-of-the-year-2011/6 - Filtration, the best TJ07 mod I've ever seen. So amazing.

I still personally think if you get a 900d and don't do extreme watercooling you are wasting your money and I don't personally like the design of corsair cases other than the 540 anyway I was just saying for the few people the 900d appeals to it isn't bad value :)

Cooler Master CM 690 II because of it's overall styling.

Cooler Master Cosmos SE because... well, it's a smaller Cosmos II and who wouldn't like that?

My favourite is probably the HAF 922, because it looks awesome and rugged, and isn't actually all that expensive. And it isn't too big.

Bitfenix Ghost is high on my list. It has very clean looks and quite good internal layout. It's not perfect but does everything well enought for the prize. Lately tpught I've grown quite fond of the Corsair Carbide Air 540 design and it will most likely be the next case I purchase when time comes to upgrade one of my computers :)
