Final nail in the coffin for G-Sync,

I highly doubt monitor makers will decide to use the 100$ Propietary scaler bullshit when Active-Sync scalers add no significant value and high likely hood of support from intel.

Nvidias gonna have to cave.

there has been a lot of rumors that all of these so called "120FPS IPs monitors" are actually VA

any info on that ?

I thought they were AH-IPS.

But still, I'm waiting for @ShadowCaptain reply, he might know something we don't know. This is all new stuff and some things might be missing.

Hey sorry, I completely forgot to reply, I get like a billion notifications lol

I cant remember the video I saw, im at work right now, but if I find it I will link it, I seemed to remember gsync having something freesync didnt but I could be entirely mistaken as @MetroP said it could be the other way around

They're AHVA. Not much difference, really. AHVA is just yet another confusingly-named IPS variant.

Ahh OK.

If i'm not mistaken doesn't Freesync actually boast features G-sync does not? Like the ability to turn itself off if the FPS gets way to low and starts causing issues with screen flickering (which has been an issue with Gsync)? As linus talked about in his CES coverage of it

I think freesync doesn't have that ULMB (ultra low motion blur) backlight strobing mode which gsync monitors have.

That's OK, there's still only about 5 G-Sync monitors on the market two CES shows since it was released (and they were all really expensive 1080p-1440p TN panels). I think the world will manage.

Depending on how competitive the new AMD GPU's are, this may be my next monitor.

you can't have both G-Sync and ULMB turn on at the same time, you have to choose one, so it's not G-Sync advantage.

and also BenQ FreeSync monitor have the same thing called "Blur Reduction", it's a monitor feature not tied to G-Sync Freesync
