XPS 13 : 2014 or 2015

Hi everyone I'm new here, I just need some advice on decision making on buying a laptop soooooo first thought was should go here and ask fellow techies for help.

Soooooo here's the story. Last year. end of year my laptop broke. Since I travel a lot (overeas student) I thought I should get a slim laptop that's somewhat up to date and has a design that I can bare with. First thought was MacBook didn't like it Mac os is weird. Soooooo I found out about the Dell XPS 13 2014 edition. I thought wow that's perfect. But due to some complications of not being able to find the right model I decided to wait when I do go back overseas to where I'm studying (on holiday atm

@TheMajesticCat hands down the 2015, better processor that will get better battery life, better design IMO, bigger SSD, better GPU

 

 

but if the 2014 is much cheaper, and you are only doing basic stuff, its still a great machine

then I would get the 2015 if it was my money

I'd get the 2015, the extra storage and battery life means a lot to me.

@ShadowCaptain i quite like touchscreens and apparently it's really productive on windows 8.1. What's your opinion on them ?.

Dont like them, I use start8 on windows 8.1 because i dont like modern UI - even on my laptops

 

I thought the 2015 model was touch screen too?

@ShadowCaptain it's only touchscreen with the QuadHD version that's why I'm considering the 2014 model. Because the overall look would be different due to the lack of the glass touch screen (since the same price model is the 1080p version)
