only 4.5 out of 5 ? you are getting more than they advertised, wouldn't it be 5 out of 5 or is their customer service crap?

I got a faulty router at first and I thought it was my computer that was faulty cause it disconnects every 15-60min interval in ethernet and never disconnects on wireless. But got it changed for free after writing to them. If not I would rate it 3/5 :D

ISP: Mweb

what I should get: 1 mbps down, 512 kbps up (dont judge i live in south africa)

what i do get: don't even ask

rating -5/5

I totally agree. Switch to Axxess, although throttling is still bit of problem, it's still better than MWeb.

ISP: Telstra

Advertised Speed: ADSL2+ (up to 24 Mbps down and 1.4 Mbps up)

Accomplished Speed: 4.27 Mbps download, 0.32 Mbps upload

Rating: 4/5

2807002304.png

Despite the slow speeds, it's important to note that I live about five kilometres from the nearest exchange, in a rural area. The land directly surrounding my house is farmland (several hundred hectares). I am very happy with 4 Mbps speeds.

ISP: Sky Broadband

Advertised Speed: ADSL2+ (Up to 16 Mbps down in this case and 2 up)

Actual Speed: 15.50 Mbps Download (Above 16 at most times though) and 0.94 Upload (Would prefer higher upload no complained about download for ADSL)

Fibre coming within a year which will give 80 down and thankfully about 20 up

Rating: 5/5

Had them since 2009 never had a problem, Speeds have increased if anything, gone from about 10 to the current 16 download over that time. No experience with support as never actually needed them and for where I live that speed is amazing especially for ADSL.

Although I can get faster speed for the same price.

The consistency and great tech support I get make it worth. And they don't block ports (for ex: CCTV).

Rated @ 30 down/5 up (???)

...so the speeds are good considering, but the price is outrageous. $110 month for internet,  basic cable which is 10 channels if that and digital phone which doesn't even have long distance. This is their "cheap" package

Lack of choice mate, slow internet or no internet, I know which I'd rather have.

Lucky you, I'm also in canada but my internet is like 2MB/s over wifi, and I have an 80GB limit.... :(
