huh? Since when is a 770 comparable to a 290? More gameworks shenanigans?

Yeah that's what worries me.

I have to say, its been a decade since last time i cared about "recommended specs"
Take this with a grain of salt people. its always been like that.

Regarding that 770 = 290, i could write a page on my thoughs on this but ill just say: AMD GPU´s and Nvidia GPU´s don't work the same way, just like AMD cpu´s and INTEL cpu´s.

or it could just be a "Nvidia title game" aka Gameworks Mojo.

Benchmarks will answer this (or the Logo when starting up the game)

It´s also possible its based on Price vs Price rather than performance.

well, my 680 should be enough for recommended. but i wonder what settings recommended specs will run on.

So, will any setup of current gpu handle it in 4k? Is there anything known about Witcher 3 support Mantle or anything?

It won't support Mantle, it will have Physx and other Nvidia features though

If there's anyone I might believe when it comes to requiring at least a quad core is Projek Red....operating word here being "might" I still think I have to call bullshit until this is out to see if this is truly multi-threaded, but something tells me a strong dual core like an i3 will run it fine.

those minimums seem rather high, im not sure thats logical. and isnt witcher the thingy made by some slavs that is supposed to be really well optimised while looking supreme?

Lol, like the 2500k and Phenom II X4 940 are in any way equal in terms of performance...

The recommended requirements look to make this a demanding game, which CDPR know how to deliver!

Bring on the graphics.

Not sure why you quoted that post and not the old one. And yes sort of my point of mentioning a strong quad core: a newer haswell i3 should be faster than that old i5 on the recommended specs, even with 2 less physical cores. This is precisely because games just suck at multi threaded performance and also why for most games even a haswell i3 can beat an 8 core FX. I just wish more games were as optimized for multiple threads as some of the pieces of software that means that AMD would suddenly be much stronger even with their ancient chips and intel will have to stop fucking around with notebooks and NUCs and actually give us broadwell desktop chips possibly upping their scheme to 4-6-8 cores for the i3-5-7 respectively.

Hopefully I'm dead wrong about the Witcher 3 and this game will actually use all 4 cores equally and constantly

Yeah sorry about that haha im on mobile. Im pretty sure that a haswell i3 is faster than the phenom ii x4 940 though. I too am wondering if intel are going to up their core stream any time soon... they'll probably up the cores when amd makes a move.

Games Works BS, which means they will get my money when the game costs 5 bucks. just like all games works games. Cancelled my CE edition awhile ago. Came from a GTX 770 and the 770 was a piece of crap compared to this card. No way in hell I am supporting this BS. I will replay Witcher 2 on Ubersampling before the price drop. The game that struggled to reach 30 FPS on ubersampling on my 770 and runs at 60 on my R9 290...

Ugghh I now start to regret getting i5-4690k should have gone i7, I sure hope it will work fine on i5 and 970 with 60fps cause AC:U from what I've seen and tested works much better on i7 but then again thats ubisoft but still.. makes me wonder if not having i7 will bottleneck
