So my internet is costing me $110AUD/month on a 300GB plan.

I am unhappy with the speed and am looking for a faster alternative.

Any other Aussies (or non-aussies) out there who can recommend a decent ISP?

$145/ month (incl. home phone deal)

500GB a month

114mbps down / 2.41mbps up. ----> 14.25down / 0.3up (MBps)

Currently telstra has been throttling my upload speed (the little amount I had of it) so a lot of the time I can't even access a simple webpage.

It looks like I'll have to wait for my grand children to get good affordable internet with google fibre.

Either that or move to a different country.

I use Optus and for $110 in a broadband/home phone bundle I get 100Mbps down /2 Mbps up .

That is with unlimited data, so I can download as much as I want.

You went for optus, I have no empathy for you. You walked into it knowing it was optus.

I currently get 60mb up/down (give-or-take) with no internet cap, Cable TV & WiFi included for about $30 of your moneys.

Optus aren't bad at all. I was with Telstra for 11 years and hated it, horrible customer service and was getting ripped off.

Moved to Optus just recently and was amazed by there customer service and broadband service that is on par/ almost on par with Telstra. Oh, and Optus prices were a lot cheaper.

The only benefit to Telstra was there cellular reception, which was better.

<-- TPG Via Telstra Offnet (more expensive as Telstra owns equipment TPG is using)

Lucky I'm 0.9'ish KM's away and get good speeds, the pricing DOES suck being 'offnet' and no other plans available.

Maximums - Asus Z97-K /w i5 4690 Bclk @106.9Mhz * x39 = 4.17Ghz, 8GB of 2600Mhz DDR3,.. Gigabyte GTX970 G1-Gaming @ 1550Mhz

Oh - and today I made a delivery to an iinet ISP technician. We got into conversation and it turns out that last Monday (a 44C day [111F]) an air conditioning unit at a local data exchange went down - causing the place to catch fire. An estimated 40,000 users are still offline, with others routed through alternate hubs.

Figures... if you take your eye off something around here for too long it's bound to combust. <_<

Today,.....Blazing it up, left it outside the door, come back few hours later, sunlight had caught something shiny, reflected onto my apparatus and created a hole in it at the bottom draining it everywhere...

Very WTF when I saw it.

But yeh, has been quite hot here....Sth Aust of course :P
