Vacuuming the pc?

So i recently built a pc a month ago and i check it lately and the dust is all over, Can i use a vacuum to clean it??

Yea, but please make sure not to get the nossle to close to any components. And if possible use a plastic/rubber(even better) nossle.

Oh and don't let the fans spin out of control. This can create a current which can damage the motherboard.

I believe using the vacuum is not reocmmended (static electricity and stuff)

Maybe buy some canned air if possible.

I wouldn't do it, just get some canned air, or blow it clean with a straw like I used to do.  :P

use your hand as the nossle hold the fans and there ya go, just did it 2 days ago and everthing is working

I used a wet cloth to clean the rear and front fan as they have built up sahara desert there

Don't use a vacuum. Firstly, it's not really that effective against fine dust, and secondly you risk the built-up of static electricity which can short out your components. Like everyone else suggest, get some canned air.

NOPE! (reasons mentioned by others). My mum destroyed a HD7770 when vacuuming her computer (i did tell her not to).

Thanks for your answers, I didnt know that there is a risk when cleaning a pc using a vacuum. I think i will buy canned air then.

After cleaning out your computer with compressed air, I would probably look at your fan setup, or placement of your computer to check out if you have any pressure issues, because if your having serious dust issues to the point that you need to consider vacuuming it, there is probably some sort of issue. Whether there's a sub-optimal fan layout, or your computer is simply on the ground/on carpet. (Which is not recommended).

I think you meant it the other way around, static builds up on insulator like plastics, it would be preferable to use a metallic nossle.

I wouldn't put vacuum pipe inside case but I use it to vacuum dust off fan grills and from air after canned air has sent it flying.

No, blow out the dust with the vacuum, dont suck it up
