[Build Log] BitFenix Pandora watercooled

will1211
Hi guys
This is my first time building a custom water cooling PC, so I don't want to build something that is already been done.
Using HD6970 because I am waiting for the mighty 390X tongue.gif
The heatsink of the card is modded, its because I couldn't find a 6970 block on internet for a good price.
Also because those GT fans are blowing the heat from the rad into the case, which is another main reason that force me to cut the reference heatsink and keep the stock fan to blow the hot air out.

The cutting of the stock heatsink is totally a nightmare, but the result is good, the vrm temp is around 60c now when play bf4

Nice one, people often asks if its possible to build a custom loop in the Pandora, and yes, here´s a good example of it :)

But the problem is Pandora only able to hold one 240 rad, when I play BF4, the cpu temp will rise to 85c and the water temperature will go to around 53c which pretty scare me out <_<

The other issue is cable management, the space between motherboard mount and the rear panel is about 0.5cm, which mean it is not possible to hide the CPU power cable in it unless you remove the sleeving or use customize cable, the space behind the rad will be about 2 cm which is my only chance to hide all the cables.  :P

I will upload a gallery once I finish the version 2

Strange, i have a 4690k, thinner 240rad than you have, AND a watercooled 7950 in that loop without any problems at all. Current water-temp is 43c running some benchmarking, CPU-temp is 55c after 40 mins cinebench. (23c room temp).

The cable management options are limited as you say, a modular psu with flat cables or braided extensions are needed.

Also the most common suggestion for the Pandora, to make more room behind the motherboard tray.

Looking forward for version 2 :)

Why no 120mm rad in the top? I was planning to do a system like this and was wondering if it was possible to put a 120mm rad in the top

I don't usually do water cooling but I must say, that looks rather fabulous.

I like your log too. Like how you give us proper pics.

Not possible to put a 120 rad on top
Unless you use itx motherboard, do a little bit mod on the top for the 120 rad and move the front 240 rad lower
As spawth mention before, it is the clearance issues with the motherboard.
