AudioQuest Dragonfly 1.2 vs FiiO E10K? Best DAC?

I'm new to this audiophile thing. I just recently bought some Audio Technica ATH-M50x and I complained that it sounded the same as my other IEMs (Sure 315). A friend recommended me to buy a DAC. I researched and these 2 came up. Which is the best one and why? THANKS!

based just on how many tiny gadgets and usb sticks and usb accessories I've lost over the years. that dragonfly is quite a lot of money in a tiny easy to lose easy to break device

hey, maybe you're more careful than me, I just wouldn't want a daily use item in such a small fragile format.

Whichever you go with, it will more or less be the same. Oh, and brace your heart when you find out later that the DAC doesn't do much to the sound, and it certainly won't turn a bad sounding headphone to a good sounding headphone.

Well it should sound somewhat the same, as their sound sigs are the same in general.

Their prices are. very close too. If you expect your m50x to sound better than decenctly good in general, you're in for a surprise.

Save your money and if you're not satisfied with that headphone then sell it and get something else. I think the Beyerdynamic DT770 would be what you might like.
