Interesting that the cooler on the i5 is bigger than on the celeron. I thought they would have gone with a "one size fits all" solution.

And personally since I saw linus paint one of the things, I think they can look pretty neat if painted.

You just had to put "server" in the thread title, didn't you? :P

That's like an auto-follow from me (well, almost). :D

I think that and the "small" did it for me.

Does someone know a better benchmark tool than the one attached? :)

What more do you need it to do?

113.20±2.43 MB/s is the transfer rate, which is 905.6±19.4 Mb/s, so pretty close to gigabit. :)

Doing some Torture tests :D

I am really surprised how good the i5 stock cooler handles the celeron :)

Spay paint the cooler for more swag. The stock cooler is pretty nice, my i5 isn't reaching the 50 C either. But I find it noisy.

Am I seeing a Silence Enermax Fan there in the back. I had 2 and both had a problem with the bearing, it makes something like a grinding noise.

tl;dr but I really hope that you removed that ungodly grill from the frontfan placement   edit: everywhere. I'd say it will improve your airflow approximately 9000 %.

Foam around the hard drives might be an option if there's still enough room for airflow around them :)

It helped a lot to direct the flow and so the noise to the back of the locker. And the bitumen inside the case stopped the aluminium from vibrating :) i only need a WD green now i guess. my 2 seagates are okay, but the older drives dont go into hybernate O.o
