friend is selling gtx 660 for $100

aidenrelkoff

for $100 is it a good deal? its not for me, since i have a 650ti boost it would be like a 8% upgrade lol.

its for a friend that is slowly upgrading from his pre built apu crossfire system.

also does a 660 run off of a 6 pin or 8 pin power?

I bought one last year, paid around $200. Even today, it's a decent medium-ish card. If it has any life left in it, I would go for it, looks like a good deal.

I am sorry for my english.

would a 430watt be fine? my whole system draws like 360watts and i have a 650ti, it cant draw that much more power..

yeah ,single 6 pin and for 100$ its a good deal since its better than a 750 ti.

yes and your system uses like 150W not 360w. a system with an overclocked i5/7 + r9 290x would use that much

ill just make a parts list of his pc on pc part picker, add the 660 and see how much it would draw. i think its gonna be like 320 tbh.

You should be totally fine with your current psu. I ran my 660 on a decent 300w psu for a short time (with an 3570k @stock) and all I had to do was to throttle the gpu to 90%

I'm not sure because I don't have a 660 myself but my friend has been running a 650 for about as long as I can remember and he plays skyrim with ultra resolution mods (about 5 of them) and he plays them smoothly with no problems. If you're considering 4k tho, that wont work but. Other than 4K, 1080p gaming is enough with that card

They are averaging $80 to 130 on ebay  so if your thinking of re-sell value it might be iffy,  If you want it for yourself , Offer him $80 or 90. Ya never know
