Hi, so I just posted that best buy is selling the reference gtx 970 and today I just read that foxconn is making them.  I know that foxconn make motherboards and I saw that in their website.   Is foxconn a brand that I should think about buying from? (motherboards).

Pretty much anything electronic you buy, was made by them. Don't worry about it they're fine no matter how shady their practices are.

No, my dad use to build pc back in the 90s and he used many of their stuff. In fact many product that people like by certain brands are actually made by companies like foxcon or foxcon. A lot of people buy the reference and never have any issues and love it, without even realizing that it is made by foxcon. So no i would say they are not that bad. Hope this helps!

I run my own indie game company called Color Dragon Studios where we are currently making a 2d platformer game called Small Earth.

I've had a friend who wanted a 2011 FoxConn board.

I sent 4 of them back because of bent pins, broken chipsets, and one of them had a MASSIVE burn mark on it.

90%+ of the chips on your asus x99 pro are manufactured by foxconn ...Asus just slap them on the PCB and make a cut.

snip

Nobody needs to hear these irrelevant tirades based on statistical singularities and dumb luck. EVERYONE has horror stories about a brand in tech, and EVERY BRAND has horror stories to their name. Newsflash; THERE ISN'T A SINGLE TECH COMPANY IN THE HISTORY OF EVER WHO HASN'T HAD ISSUES WITH A PRODUCT BEFORE.

Your pointless crusade is nothing but static; the one buyer's experience would have sufficed, as irrelevant as it is in the context of the thread, but the 675398735 posts after it of argumentative bickering because you think a single bad experience gives you guru status is a complete waste of space and everyone's time.

In case the moderators do not ban me as requested, this is a notice that I have left and am not coming back.

foxconn is one of the biggest OEMs about. I wouldn't buy a product badged by them but components made by them feature in many tech products including other boards.
