I like to spend money. I got a job, so I could spend money. I got an app so i could save up for a new computer. But here i am with 60 in my bank because of random purchaces and unexpected expenses. (20 Christmas sweater, 25 lighter, 20 calculator for act) i know I need to gave money but how do I get myself not to impulse buy so much and stick to my budget (minus the steam sales ;))

Background info:

140 a week...

I make 120 a month...

Well for me I had to limit myself to how much I could spend because of a debt I owe.

In CSGO I only open cases that I get from drops, and I only buy keys with money in my steam wallet (not adding any).

I have a huge problem with impulse buys. It really sucks.

Someone told Luke and Linus at CES 2017 to "Unban the legend known as Jerakl" and that's about all I've got going for me. (It didn't work)

Create an account for your build. Every paycheck, add a certain percentage to that account and let it build up.

$25 lighter eh so you have a bad habit? Get rid of that and you will have more money.  As for saving money with what you are making currently hard to save much from that but anything you can put away is good.  Don't laugh at setting 10% or less aside of what you make as it adds up but really based on various bankers and financial advisors advice you are not even at an income where you have money to save.

Too many ****ing games!  Back log 4 life! :S

That sucks...I worked like 24 hours this week so yeaahh but its not so much buy steam stuff but random stuff pops up that I think I need...

Create an account for your build. Every paycheck, add a certain percentage to that account and let it build up.

why not create a separate account so when you cash in your check some of it goes to a saving fund or something like that

I'll have to look into that, I'll talk to my parents

$25 lighter eh so you have a bad habit? Get rid of that and you will have more money.

Don't smoke lol I just wanted one cuz there cool #BadImpulseBuy

Will power,  just like every other form of strength it is something you have to commit to and exercise to get strong enough to be able to save.

will power, self discipline and self control are all very hard to learn yet all very important qualities you need to succeed.

Grammar and spelling is not indicative of intelligence/knowledge.  Not having the same opinion does not always mean lack of understanding.

Here's an idea: Wear a shock collar around your neck, ok, ok I know it's ridiculous, but hear me out, if you feel like buying something that you don't need, shock yourself! It's negative reinforcement! Sure to work!

If you've somehow figured out some way as to NOT shock yourself, just give your friend the remote and have him follow you around!

Follow the topics you create using the "Follow" button in the top right corner!

One day I will have my GTX 970. One day. PC specs are at my profile.

Not sure how to check what part works with what? Check out my compatibility guide!

If you smoke, Quit smoking! I quit and save a lot of money for it. I was smoking up to 3 packs a day, if I can quit anyone can.. That's actually how I wound up affording my new rig too. I bought parts or set money back each payday that I could afford from not smoking. I quit smoking by telling myself and others that I *don't* smoke anymore, instead of i can't or shouldn't or i'm trying to stop. If your spending your goal money on impulses it's only because you have not set your mind to your goal. It gets easier for various reasons as you get older tho but shaking off impulse purchases takes willpower.

Don't buy apps to save money, save money by saving it, not spending it. If you can't stop spending then you'll never save up for any thing, just go read up on how to fill for bankruptcy, you seem to be headed there.

I roll with sigs off so I have no idea what you're advertising.

This is NOT the signature you are looking for.

dont impulse buy. You have to limit yourself. When you see something for sale, question if that will really benefit you or simply just give you a bit of short term enjoyment.

then you need to start working on them, there is no point in setting up bank accounts or only taking limited cash with you, or even trying to get other people to hold it if in the end you won't improve your will power.  You may succeed once or twice but in the long run you will come unstuck, will power is the foundation for all success, it is the drive that gets you through study and exams, that stops you giving up metres from the finish line, it is the skill that see's you through and gets you into job interviews.  It is also a skill the helps you keep a job and prioritize life.   In short without it there is no success, just occasional luck.
