GTX 680 or R9 270?

louddifference
Go to solution Solved by Clyne,

A 270X is about a 670, so a 680 is better than a 670. Do the math.

so i won a gtx 680 2gb from a stream yesterday and im currently running a r9 270 from msi.

which card should i use? my power supply can handle both with ease.

i run a 1080p monitor as well as a 2024p secondary monitor.

i dont realy make use of mantle since i dont play bf4 much anymore.

what do you guys think would be best?

Actually, the 270 is somewhere between a 660 and 660 Ti.

The only reason to go with the radeon would be to get free sync (which will be cheaper and probably more available than gsync) and mantle.

270x a.k.a 7870 a.k.a Pitcairn only get video playback benefit from Freesync. Mantle with 270 ain't that great because of the 2GB VRAM.

"Do the math" That isn't how it works, but you are correct: the 680 is the one to go with.
