Kepler anyone?

Anyone else out there rocking a gpu with kepler architecture, instead of switching up for a new maxwell?

Basically just post what kepler gpu you're using and when you bought it and any sentimental things about it.

(stories, your reaction when first got it, how long its been running well, etc.). 

 

I guess you could call it a kepler fanboy thread.

Yes, Maxwell is like 2 months old (not counting 750)

 

I'll be keeping my 760 for a looooong time. It's a beast for 1080p.

umm, noone in their right mind will go from kepler to maxwell, unless they have like a 660 or less. just not worth it

Feels weird to think of Kepler as the old architecture now... I have a 660 on my desk, and i gave my 760 to my brother. good architecture.

I sold my GTX 670 to my friend for money for prom last year, and I just bought a 970. GTX 670 was a glorious card indeed, love it still.

 

I can understand why someone would upgrade from the 600 series, but the 700 series... it's kind of pointless for 770 and up.

 

Stories about when I got it... it was the last part for my rig, and it took a lot of convincing to get my parents to help me buy it. I ordered it on a wednesday night and sadly it came on monday. It was a torturous weekend indeed. I RMA'd it three times thinking it was broken, but the top PCI slot on my mobo was broken, so I wasted about two more weeks before I got to actually play my games. I OC'd it to 1.3 GHz and I thought it was awesome.

Going to upgrade soon though, not sure if NVidia or AMD, probably AMD cause their cards in the 200-300€ range are looking very sexy for the price :-)

Still got my 650 ti hanging around, and the only reason I'm not using it is because it doesn't have the vRam to handle skyrim mods. Otherwise it plays games at 1080p mid to high settings.

I'm running an EVGA 670FTW. I originally bought a used regular EVGA 670 which was DOA, had to send it to Germany, EVGA was great and sent me back a better card.

That was the beginning of this year and still going strong.

Saving for a 970 or maybe 980 though.

GTX 970s are the way to go with the maxwell architecture, they actually only have a small performance gap when compared to a 980, and a 970 can easily be overclocked to near 980 speeds.

Frankly I'd still be on my 680 if it weren't for me moving up to 1440p.  I think I'll be happy with my 780Ti for the next couple of months.
