This laptop appears to have mutated into a power supply, but if you call up they'll be able to help with making sure you don't spend 1.5k on a powersupply ;)

One problem is that most 17" laptops with multiple drives, 8+ GB of RAM, and Intel CPUs are usually high-end gaming laptops or professional workstation laptops, both of which are expensive an come with big video cards..

I would probably suggest going to some local PC stores and looking at their selection. Even if they don't have a specific model that fits every criteria, you can look at the different brands they have and then search that companies' website for better models..

Maybe something like an MSI C or GE-series, or Asus N-series?

Just get a Thinkpad T430/T430s with your required spec. My father uses a T430 for his engineering work and it's fantastic, has very good battery life and excellent build quality too. Don't settle for a poorly built gaming piece of crap like an MSI or Sager that has no battery life. Thinkpads are really the only laptops left that are designed to do real work on, I love my X220  :D

I dont really need those, but i will be happy if i can have

also pretty sure 17+ inch laptops with IPS dont exist with modern specs

if u can settle for 16inches there are a few that still makes them

Mainstream laptops don't exist in this configuration, however, you can get custom built laptops that have similar specs to your wishes (though I haven't seen one with an IPS panel).

Here is one that they sell in Australia, though it's slightly over the $2K mark. I do not think you will find a laptop with an IPS monitor and workstation capability under $1.5K. I do, however, think you will find almost everything you need in a custom laptop (not including an IPS monitor and touch screen capability) for about $2,000.

Sorry, some misinformation in the above post. I wasn't aware Origin sold in the US (and for cheaper, too!)

That model is available in the US here. It has almost everything you need and you can customize to your wishes. Starting price is around $1800, but you might need to dip more in for your specific needs.

I don't think anything exists that will have everything you want, especially on your budget. Origin MIGHT have something they can put together for you, but it'll be expensive.
