Why will you go with a 5820k ? and not an 5930k ?

For what will you be using your build ?

thank you for providing useful info unlike this person

You're welcome ( ͡º ͜ʖ ͡º)

Someone told Luke and Linus at CES 2017 to "Unban the legend known as Jerakl" and that's about all I've got going for me. (It didn't work)

i mean it was hardly useful all i said was yes.. i don't really have any input if you dont wana do the build you suggested above this is close to the next best thing... with the added bonus of x99

Because a 5930k is just a higher clocked 5820k with more PCI lanes. It's pretty much just a waste of money if you're not doing tri-SLI or more.

RIP in pepperonis m8s

Yeah i know that but i recommend it that because the difference between 5820k and 4790k is not much

(For me is waste of money to get an 5820k)

Thats why i asked for what he will be doing on this build - what kinds of applications will he run?

5930k is about $300 more

X99 will be better for cpu intensive work. I don't know a huge amount about CAD and after effects software, but if they make use of the extra cores then the 5820K will be better.

5930k is about $300 more

How about this build ?

God no. The i7 5820K would be better in every way, for cpu intensive stuff.

no, i personally disagree but is ok :)

http://www.anandtech.com/bench/product/1289?vs=1316

tHE 9590 will come with a cpu cooler and has more cores

the difference is not so much in benchmarks

Both gpu has pros and cons

For me the 5820k is just a gu so intel can get money

I don't think you read that link properly. The 5930K wins on more or less everything, and at a far lower clock speed. Even an i5 will beat it in single threaded situations.

The 9590 doesn't come with a stock cooler, as the AMD one would probably melt with the heat. You need a pretty hefty cooler and a high end board to cope with the 220W TDP.

Also don't let the '8 core' AMD cloud your mind. The Intel cpu has far stronger cores than the AMD.

The 9590 has no pro's.....only cons.

But te overall benchmark there are preety the same

I agree that amd has faster cpu but between the 5820k i will have chose the amd

I know that intel have a better single core performance but this applications he will be using want more cores

and he can get a 295x2 which will bring powerful performance

That video doesn't show any benchmarks as it is just an unboxing and overview.

Ok so let Me show you some of the benchmarks from the Anandtech link that you provided. Here are a few results:

Handbrake v0.9.9 LQ Film:

(Higher is better)

FX 9590 - 401.05 Frames per second

i7 5930K - 527.36 Frames per second

So that is a difference of around 126 Frames per second.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Agisoft PhotoScan Benchmark - Stage 1: Align Photos

Time in Minutes (Lower is Better)

FX 9590 - 7 min 26 sec

i7 5930K - 4 min 16sec

So that is a 3 minute and 10 second difference

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Cinebench R10 - Single Threaded Benchmark

Score in CBMarks - Higher is Better

FX9590 - 4905
i7 5930K - 7049

Cinebench R10 - Multi-Threaded Benchmark
Score in CBMarks - Higher is Better

FX9590 - 26635
i7 5930K - 39350

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

x264 HD Benchmark - 1st pass - v3.03

Frames per Second - Higher is Better

FX9590 - 97.87
i7 5930K -120.26

If this was a Boxing Match the referee or Corner would have stopped the fight in the 1st round.

Also the Intel i7 4790K or 5820K has better single threaded and multithreaded performance.

There is really no comparison between the two. Intel wins hands down, and that is from someone who used AMD cpu's up until my last pc.

the fx is less powerful

the colors are mismatched

I dont want an ssd and already have storage

you still have to add a cpu cooler

its a downgrade in every way but GPU

its over $2100 in canada

Thats that. If you need to get in touch chances are you can find someone that knows me that can get in touch.

This looks better

The MSI GTX 980 Twin Frozr matches nicely with the Red/Black case.

Also this Geil Ram looks nicer than the G.Skill value kit.
