If using like livestream or twitch what is usually the best CPU for streaming that isn't like a 10 Core Xeon or that?, I heard the 8350's rule when it comes to streaming thanks to the extra cores, so by that logic a 9590 Would be amazing, but what about CPU's like the 5820K,4960X,5930K,4930K,990X,3930K etc etc?

just a curious question that's all :].

All of the intel CPUs you listed (except maybe the old 990X) will be much better than the 8350, 9590, or any other AMD CPU.

I recommend the 5820k because its cheap and has 12 threads, while being newer technology than the 4000 and 3000 series.

guys i already have a 4820K xD, but i do admit some of the curiosity spawns from the fact my Friends FX 8350 absolutely beasts at streaming.

even better than the 4820k and my old 3770k

4790k would be great, less expensive as well :P

^ This.. If you don't want to OC and obviously don't plan to use the iGPU, you can get a Xeon E3-1231 v3 or 1240 v3. :) I have no issues with streaming on my Xeon E3-1230 v3. :)

When it comes to streaming, more cores would provide a benefit. I think this is one of the few positives of AMD 8-core processors.

I don't want to say more....this thread could turn nasty any moment.

maybe the FX 8 core helps in streaming but also maybe not

it really subjective case here

persoanlly I may invest in a stand alone capture device and a laptop to offload the recording and streaming

i see you got a HTPC, all the more to use it for video capture

just need to clone the display

"Capture. Card."

I read that using a capture card, such as the Elgato Game Capture HD, on a single PC doesn't yield much benefit since the recording/streaming is still being routed back to the CPU from the capture card to be processed. Can anyone shed some light on this?

i think one of my friends used the capture card way with his 3570K and a E8500 Core 2 duo :], worked okay but the core 2 couldnt keep up, but i liked the idea and possibly did want to try with the HTPC but i havent got myself a capture card yet, i hear the avermedia One is really good and i think jacksepticeye and probably some other youtubers use it i think??.

also can i mention seeing some of you guys here with all yer i7's and FX this and knowing this and that, being big computer nerds.

you guys are kind of adorable (/owo\), i'm like really tired and being really dumb but i do so wanna say i find a lot of you guys adorable, .u. not just linus, even if watching him nerd out is adorable too .o. .

It will still be much better quality than any sort of software solution.

Really? Because by using a capture card for a single PC, there will be extra steps taken for the stream/recording to be sent to the capture card and then back. It also doesn't relieve the workload from the CPU. So wouldn't software recording, such as OBS, be better since there is no need of that extra step? Dunno, I have never really streamed.

Well by quality I mean video/sound quality.  Software solutions tend to have a lot of limitations, while a capture card will get it straight from the hardware source.

Most streamers seem to use a second PC with the capture card though to not affect performance.
