Changing the GPU of a laptop

fababaa
Go to solution Solved by lani100,

My question is: can I change the GPU of my laptop?

I currently have a Asus R505C with a 635M 2GB and I'd like to change that

On this laptop it is not possible but on some highend laptops it's possible if they have a mxm graphicscard.

It's not likely that you can, most if not all laptops have a soldered GPU.

More than likely not as GPUs are usually soldered down, but even if you could it wouldn't have the ability to dissipate the heat from a worthy upgrade anyway.

No, afaik upgrading the GPU in a laptop is only possible if it has a high-end GPU, such as a GTX 970M.
