Assetto Corsa?

as96

I wonder how much they had to down-grade the graphics settings for the consoles...

Now that it's been much better optimized since early access, I wouldn't consider it an overly demanding game by today's standards. Should run decently on the consoles at 1080p medium settings. I can see the CPU being a potential bottleneck with the physics and high numbers of AI on track. Wouldn't be surprised if they reduce the max number of vehicles/players per race vs. the PC version.

If I can run it on an FX4300, then the consoles should be able to handle it quite easily. The only thing that might need to be reduced for the consoles is the post processing effects, but in all honestly; Assetto Corsa just isn't all that demanding. I know people who are running it on mediocre laptops with low to mid range GPU's on fairly decent settings.

Have you tried running a race or practice with a full field of 26 (can't remember the exact maximum number) AI cars? It really hammers the CPU. It's not nearly as bad now as it was during early access. I'm guessing they've worked on a lot of optimizations since then.

Yes I have, quite a few times as well. When I am not drifting, or racing online, I run races with a full field of AI.

I can run it a little bit above medium with a GTX760 and Xeon 1230v3.

And online it's still stuttery.

Was playing online last night running laps around the 'ring for fun with a bunch of people. Was just a ton of fun and something I'll never get tired of. Ran a 6:11 in a 599XX, my best with that car yet. :D

I still have yet to race you haha, but my cpu recently kicked the bucket and I'm running the old Phenom II for now. Has there been any updates since the last DLC?

Yeah, I know. :P Let me know when you get a new CPU and we'll set something up. I don't always know when I have time to jump in, so it's often spontaneous, but I should be able to set aside some time over the summer. :)

Haven't been any updates in a while that I know of.

It's more than "somewhat realistic" and you must not be much of a hard-core racing sim enthusiast, I'm guessing... ;)

Yeah you guessed it right, i really like racing games and simulator but i don't have the time or the money to be a "hardcore fan" maybe i would enjoy the game better with better equipment

For sure. With a proper wheel setup, it's so much more enjoyable. ;) Maybe keep your eye's peeled for a used G27. Never know when you might come across a deal.

Uh... I just upgraded to windows 10 yesterday. Haven't tried Assetto yet or my G27. Hope it still works for me... :S

I see they've added the GT86, Lambo Miura and a few other fun cars. I know what I'll be doing tonight... :D (if it still works)

Looks like I'll be doing the same :P Ironically I was just checking out a long list of tracks and cars I have yet to install onto my game. Leaving for Concours in the morning so dont know how long I'll be able to test tonight

Been using my G27 with Windows 10 preview builds for the last few months, works just the same as it does on windows 7 or 8.1. The new update for Assetto is quite good also, and the changes to the FFB and physics make the cars feel more natural to me. I have put in 212 hours so far with Assetto, and with these new changes in V1.2; I can see myself putting in even more than that.

Yeah, I just played Assetto for a while with the G27 and everything seems fine, except for some graphical glitches on the Nurburgring. Some misplaced and missing textures. Not sure if anyone else has run into this after the latest update?
