People (especially on LTT) act like going from TN to IPS is like going from 480p to 1080p.

Went from TN to PLS recently and holy balls, its amazing, its nice to not have to position my head correctly just to see my screen, I can lean my head on my left hand while watching a video without thinking im on LSD

Cough cough they are some people OC their monitor saw someone with one of the Korean monitor with 120Hz.

 

Sounds like bullshit, I followed OC screengrabs of various IPS panels for a long while, highest I ever saw was 96hz. I don't doubt that there would be better results, but not by 24hz. I have seen too many samples, what you are saying would be an absolute statistical singularity, or not just an overclocked panel but also an overdriven panel (which would look like shit)

Especially the 27" have this problem but if you don't sit perfectly in front of it then you already have color distortion or that green tint over the image giving just a horrible image.

 

It IS a massive change. The amount of eye candy I saw when I went from shitty 19" TN to 27" IPS goodness was so damn good.
