Gigabyte G1 GTX 980 vs 970

barsnbolts

Looking at the option of either cards.

I'm in Canada, Is the 980Worth the extra money for the amount of performance? I'm kind of new to overclocking so it would only be something mild and stable if I were to get the 970.  Any input would be fantastic!

I also think that 2x 970 is a lot better option than 1x 980. The performance increase of 980 over 970 is not really worth the money unless you are 1%.

unless you want the very best performance you can get use sli 980 but if you are the average consumer 2 GTX 970's should be more than enough.

Get the 970 and OC that motherf*cker.

I have a G1 Gaming 970, OCed to 1550/7800, and i'm getting higher score than a G1 Gaming 980 according to this site http://www.ocaholic.ch/modules/smartsection/item.php?itemid=1441&page=5

My GTX 970 is getting 2057 of Score in Heaven, the G1 980 got 1955.

Yes, that G1 980 is at stock, but for a lot less the 970 can perform almost the same as a 980 if Oced.
