Android 5.0 Lollipop rolling out to Samsung Galaxy S5, starting in...

Based on information received by the folks over at SamMobile, it looks like the Samsung Galaxy S5 has started receiving Android 5.0 Lollipop. According to their post, the OTA to version G900FXXU1BNL2 has begun to hit the SM-G900F model in Poland and may hit other European countries soon. Of course we don't know how widespread the rollout is, nor do we know if the update hitting Poland means a larger push is under way, but we know that it's at least hitting some phones in the wild.

This is as far as i know surprisingly quick! I thought Samsung said it would take 3-6 months for Lollipop to hit their devices. I can't wait for the Note 4 to get the same treatment as well!

It's interesting to see the S 5 getting updated before the Note 4.

I am far more interested in the Note 4 update since that SoC might possibly support 64bit Android.

Is there any info as to what the update entails?

The stone cannot know why the chisel cleaves it; the iron cannot know why the fire scorches it. When thy life is cleft and scorched, when death and despair leap at thee, beat not thy breast and curse thy evil fate, but thank the Builder for the trials that shape thee.

Any news on Note 3? I saw a news post talking about how the Note 3 would get Android 5.0.

If your rooted you can have it now. I've been running 5.0 on my note 3 for a couple days, there's a couple issues with it but its still 100% usable for me. The rom is CM12.

Edit: Also encryption for me is disabled by default. It crashes if i try to encrypt it.

My profile pic is the game i'm currently playing. I hope i remember to change it..

I wonder when my 2013 Nexus 7 will finally get the update. Last time I checked it was meant to be out a few weeks ago.

Same with my brother's Moto G 2nd Gen, and that was supposed to get the update even before the nexuses, I wouldn't have borne waiting myself, I have it running even on my old S2 via CM12 xD.

Meh, had L for two weeks now (UK). Seems like UK doesnt get considered as EU country lol.

The battery saver is great feature (it actually gives me 1-2% in couple of hours) and notification bar with included widgets is also my favourite. Other than that i havent noticed anything too good from Kit Kat.
