760 ti expectations

Guest

We're all waiting on the release of the Gtx 760 ti - So what do you expect to see from this new card? How much more VRAM? Clock speed? Features? Overall performance?

And, do you think you would upgrade to a 760 ti if you had a lower class card?

I think it'll be 2gb of ram, 1060 mhz clock, same features as usual prolly gpu boost 2.0 etc, overall performance will be inbetween a 7950/7970 I believe. And inbetween a 670 and 680.

GPU BOOST 3.0 MWHAHAHA. If it can run crysis then im happy. I hope it uses a different cooler, sounds bad but i wanted that sexy cooler to only be for the high level cards.

i would say gtx 670 performance. I think that if it is 100 dollars cheaper than the gtx 770 it may take a chunk out of the gtx 770 sales.

5% faster then a 660Ti with 2GB of VRAM. The 700 series besides the 780 are all rebranded cards. Not sure why Nvidia even bothered with the 700 series. They should've skipped it altogether and just released a Gimped Titan instead. I foresee AMD releasing a new architecture that destroys this rebranded garbage.

I think it will have OpenCL 1.2, which for my purposes pretty much gives it the nod over AMD and the 600 series.

My Build

Same thing as a GTX 670. With a few extra features. I won't be buying the 700 series though. I'm gonna try whatever AMD puts out.

CPU: Intel i5-2320 @ 3.9gHz

GPU: MSI GTX 670 PE @ 1411/7387

I wanna go fast! :P

it's the way they've always done it haven't they?  release a new architecture, then next series, tune it better, then release a new, tune it

Yes but I don't understand where the 780 fits into this whole thing since its different then everything below it. It should have been the Titan Lite or something instead of the 780. Only reason it's there is to get the people that think the Titan is overpriced.

The Titan should never have been a $1000 to begin with and it makes me laugh when people think the 780 is such a great deal for $650 because it comes close to Titan speeds. That is exactly what Nvidia wanted people to think and people fell for it pretty easily. They overcharged for the Titan so they could over charge for the 780 and make people think its a good value for $650.

Theres been some rumours that say the titan was actually supposed to be the 680, and that amd didn't really release a big enough deal for them to release it, so they just made a lower end card and used it as the 680 and kept developing the Titan, "Apparently"

Edit: I remember seeing the rumours on 1 of the bigger tech youtube chans, I think it was teksyndicate/ techoftomorrow/motherboardsorg I can't remember though, but I do vaguely remember watching a video about it

I know what you're talking about. They ended up releasing what was supposed to be a 650Ti as the 680 since it matched the performance of the 7970. Not sure why Nvidia wouldn't just release a beast of a card when AMD couldn't come close to matching it.

Maybe they're just keeping aces up their sleeve or something, who knows lol.  As far as we know maybe some huge oil tycoon guy owns amd+nvidia and makes $ no matter what haha

I think that really depends on what you're planning to do with the card, you're probably also paying for the support you get with Nvidia. Although my impression is that if you're gaming, AMD is the way to go.

Gtx 760 ti will be a bit faster than 670

Regardless, BF4 will bring all cards to their needs
