Call of Duty Voted Best Franchise Ever By Guinness Book of World Records

Imo they should've picked more, then 5,000 people, since only Steam Community have a population of at least of 5 MILLION active users daily, according to graphs.

I dont even know, how to react to this news. What do you guys think? Is this award deserved by this franchise? If not, then wich is the one?

Call of Duty receives a lot of hate from the PC community, but you can't deny that it has been incredibly successful, time and time again. "Best" is subjective, but Call of Duty 4 was kind of the turning point for the FPS genre because of how amazingly popular it was, and still is.

Totally agree with Guinness, COD has lived through many iterations and still sold like mad, good old consolitus and  fanboys <3

Half-Life definitely is leaps and bounds above Call of Duty. There really wasn't a reason for it to win this award.

Also Counter Strike

Because he had a hard drive.

But Counter-Strike.

I do believe that they are just looking purely at sales. In that case CoD has beating pretty much all games, especially FPS games. Though, as we all know, that doesn't mean that the game is the best.

What do they know of England, who only England know?

the longest running franchise that never took a break or had a remake has got to be Warcraft. I remember playing the first warcraft on DOS, or possibly windows 95... I think it ran on both.... but i guess they are targeting all platforms, because warcraft has made more money than probably any other game franchise ever.

Staring at my Original copies of Warcraft 1 & 2 + Expansion now thinking about how they are such great games.

It's a neat franchise, but not best.

Elder Scrolls, Pokemon, The Legend of Zelda, Super Mario, Mario Kart, Portal.

These are better IMHO (I'm sure Im missing some)

Edit: GTA!
