When it's newer and it's a good sale. The later you wait the closer there will be to new cards dropping and prices getting lower. And better cards taking their place.

Black Friday/Cyber Monday you'll find some good deals, but usually not anything you couldn't find throughout the year.

Just after a new series card drops, as well. The previous generation of cards usually tank in price.

Christmas deals are gonna be awesome if you ask me, so ... I deal time would be to buy on ewhen they release a new product line, the price drops for lower tiers..

Usually a few months after a new launch prices will drop on both Nvidia and AMD cards. That in my opinion is the best time to buy because typically the cards will still be on the market for awhile so you're not buying an obsolete product day 1, and you aren't paying bleeding edge prices.

I will wait till January. If the 300s are coming out, nvidia should make a sell before the release.

Best time would be when you can no longer play games at a point where you feel graphic wise you are lacking

Not after a single generation's past.... the 580/680 can still max most games, granted it depends what you want out of your games but it's usually fairly silly to buy a new card as soon as one's available.

I'm in a pickle too. I'm currently deployed and won't be back for a few months. I'm debating about buying some parts on black friday or wait a few months until I get back....
