mITX build REVISED what u think?

Go to solution Solved by xnoobftw,

Gaming, if I did any video editing it'd be only randomly and not often.

The M.2 is only like $20ish bucks more, would that be justifiable instead of getting an SSD to avoid no cables?(just a thought)

I personally think that samsung ssds (they are able to use the ram cache to speed up the ssd with their software called samsung magician) are better than the rest as you are almost guaranteed the max speed of the ssd at all times

post-121155-0-04576200-1415373190_thumb.

As the title says.

After careful consideration (literally investigation lol) I have decided on this build with help from others on the forums. Thanks a LOT u guys.

What u guys think of this build?

Edited so far:

http://pcpartpicker.com/user/zerojeremy1/saved/CRcBD3

Should it be revised? If so, what parts and why?

Budget is $1400, prefer to keep it mITX, and gaming capable.

Thanks a ton in advance xD.

@xnoobftw, I would probably keep the WD Blue HDD in his original build. They just seem more reliable IMHO. ;)

Good build suggestion though. :)

ON A 7 MONTH BREAK FROM THESE LTT FORUMS. WILL BE BACK ON NOVEMBER 5th.

Tyvm for the suggestions!

So CM Hyper TX3 for about $10 cheaper for cpu cooler.

Z97i-Plus for motherboard(this was also my 2nd choice) I chose Maximus VII Impact cuz of few extra features like soundcard and BIOS addons such as secureSSD.

Why Aegis over the G.Skill? Personal preference? The Aegis' CAS latency is 11(G.Skills are 8 with better clocks). Am I missing something here?(really idk lol)

Oh and why remove the M.2? Is it worse than a SSD?

Thanks again!

So different cpu cooler, ram, and psu.

That cooler would be hard to come by(only one store sells it via partpicker) plus it seems too wide and may conflict with 380T's back fan but I'm not sure.

That ram is CAS 11(mine was 8). Is CAS 11 better than 8? I thought the lower the CAS(and timings) the better.

That's a nice fully modular psu(it'd be great with silverstone short cable kit which includes a really short 24 pin connector) but I'm unfamiliar with XFX psu's. Is it reliable? How's the noise and length?

Thank you very much for the suggestions so far! xD

@cheezewhisperer

IDK about the cooler.

The RAM, the lower CAS the better, but 2400MHz is better than 1600MHz.

The XTR is known, at least in the portuguese forums for its silent operation, so no problem with that. Reliable, yes it is. Length, I think it is just like the "normal" ones.

What are you doing with your rig? Gaming or video editing?

EDIT: M.2 Really isnt worth the price imo. Unless you are runningout of space just get the 2.5 inch ssd

Hmmm the motherboard choice is up to you. For RAM i dont really think that frequency affects your FPS in games at all, so might as well go for the better looking and cheaper ones! :D

Oh so it's 2400, I didn't recognize that. I thought 8 CAS is faster than a 11 but the 2400 can just hold more(like a pitcher compared to a cup). Am I wrong?

I would go with the EVO 840, M.2 is only if you really want to save some space and a cable or 2.

Do u have any problems recently with the Samsung EVO, or Pro due to that read/write firmware issue? It was supposedly solved back in an October patch but idk since I dont have one yet.

Thanks in advance.
