Currently in college. Stressed, overworked and broke. No expensive dinners or going out to eat. So far my diet has been chicken breast, frozen pizza, ramen noodles and bagel bites. What have I been drinking you ask? a crap load of water as well as the weekend party beer.

So share your favorite baller on a budget/college recipes that you have made, if they are elaborate and creative please go into detail about how to make them. I'm looking for some ideas.

Thanks

mac n cheese is one of my personal favorite inexpensive foods and ramen isnt bad but it does get boring and bland after awhile even when trying to mix up the flavors. also soups are really good and can be filling and if youre in the u.s, then it can be real nice during the winter if it gets cold at your college :D

It's cheap food that's good when you're lazy and it's summer break. Just nuke some water in the microwave and you've got a meal.

during the summer my main choice of food is likely to not be some burning hot coup of noodles... but yeh i see where youre coming from my friend.

It's got vegetables...sorta... :D

Dehydrated. Honestly, they suck. Especially the carrots. I just eat the peas and corn as is. I think chicken flavored is best. I also have Nongshim chicken noodles for ex:

because they are your "afternoon meal"

I eat this stuff at breakfast. Yet by lunch, i feel like eating myself because there is lacking in fiber and protein.

Do you live in a dormitory or university apartments? If you don't have a kitchen, buy an induction cooktop and a Teflon pan. Proceed to buy eggs, cheese, and some veggies like tomatoes.

Make omelette one morning, scrambled eggs the next, sunny side up one day. Every other day eat something like cereal or farina if you can afford it (oatmeal).

For lunch, basically buy bread. make yourself a wholesome sandwich, my favorite is cracked sourdough. Add some fruit on the side, like apples, oranges, or bananas.

For dinner, you mentioned chicken. Buy some potatoes and make fries, or mashed potatoes.

Also, try to find a cheap supermarket to go to.

Unlike you I have the luxuries of living with family members while in university, so my meals are basically covered for free, and so is my room and board :P. Your first mistake was deciding not to live with family, you're basically paying for something that provides no real use to you.

You know some university dorms don't allow a cooktop or a open flame, people would have to resort to the cafeteria or a restaurant if they wanted to eat.

Induction. Doesn't heat up any coil, rather by electromagnetism the pan heats up. I don't dorm at my university, but Induction cooktops are on their allowed list. Normal electric (resistive) cook tops are not allowed.

At my university they have an open kitchen also. With a set of communal pots and pans that get chlorine washed and disinfected every day. Students can opt to bring their own pots and pans in also.

To think that a university doesn't offer a kitchen area for their dormitory students is beyond my comprehension.

Some university are stupid, they don't allow a toaster in their dorms. But hey, each university is different so the rules are different.
