Who said games used only a couple threads?

watchdogs loves everything...RAM, VRAM, CPU threads...it's a very demanding game indeed!

I'm going to put up a thread with all of the things I did (including TheWorse+Maldo textures) along with 2-3 other tweaks that got this game running gold for me all the time. It'll probably be Monday.

i5 2500k+Noctua NH-D14 - 8GB HyperX Blu - 240GB PNY XLR8 - Sapphire Reference 7970 - P8Z68-V Pro/Gen 3 - OCZ ZX 850W

Unlike *some* people, I do not claim to be an expert computer guru.  When I make mistakes, I apologise and I own up to them.  Then, I continue to learn so that I may provide those in need with educated answers to the best of my ability.

CPU Usage
Lowering the resolution to 1024×768 to monitor CPU usage we see all 12 threads of the Intel i7 3930K being utilized. At the 1080,1440 and 4K resolution we see very similar results.

| CPU: Core i7-8700K @ 4.89ghz - 1.21v  Motherboard: Asus ROG STRIX Z370-E GAMING  CPU Cooler: Corsair H100i V2 |
| GPU: MSI RTX 3080Ti Ventus 3X OC  RAM: 32GB T-Force Delta RGB 3066mhz |
| Displays: Acer Predator XB270HU 1440p Gsync 144hz IPS Gaming monitor | Oculus Quest 2 VR

On the topic of watchdogs, I recently got an i7 920 from work for freesies to replace my qx9650. Overclocked to 3.8 (click for hi-res)

hyperthreading off, stuttering for days. Hyperthreading on, buttery smooth. All options maxed, 50fps average.

CPU: Ryzen 5800X | GPU: RTX 3080 FE | Board: x570 Aorus Master | RAM: 32GB GSkill TridentZ | Case: Phanteks 719

yes i get the same result when i disable ht the game runs much poorly...i must add though that so far this has been the only game where ht makes such a big difference, the other multi-threaded games not being cpu intensive enough just yet i assume.

I'm not an expert, but CPU can keep switching threads from core to core for more equal work load. That in mind what you are seeing might actually just be 4 main threads spread over 8 cores (4 cores@100% vs 8 cores@50%).
