Need more Sata 6GBits ports

leodaniel

Hello

My problem is the following: I only have 6 Sata-Ports on my Motherboard (Rampage IV Gene, mATX) but I need some more Internal.

Is there any good solution for that? I actually only use one PCIe slot.

Thx for your Help

Thx a lot, just one question, will those HDD be recognised as internal or external drives?

Internal.

Internal over a PCIe SATA Controller...

If you're planning a RAID array, get a RAID controller instead since not all PCIe SATA controllers support RAID arrays...

Okey, I already have a Raid setup on my Motherboard ports, I wanted to test some new/older OS (OSX and Windows) on those new ports. Have some ssd laying around... ;)

and for more storage of course

What about a PCIe card? Costs about 30€ and is solid.

NOTE: If you want to boot from a card, it may take longer, because the PCIe card has to start first.

And look for PCIe x4 cards, not x1, because PCIe x1 has only 5 GBit/s.

Okey thx, and the longer time is no problem, it's just for testing older and newer operating systems ;)
