Need Laptop for College, Engineering Major

Hello, I am going to college next year and looking into laptops. I haven't been too invested in this area before so I'm not sure where to start. I believe engineering tasks generally require a good CPU and RAM, but don't need as much GPU, is that correct? Any recommendations for laptops to get? The budget is ideally around/under $2,000 US. I was looking into the framework laptop 16, but unsure about shipping being delayed.

The smart thing to do is ask your advisor and a few of the upperclassmen in your school.

Then after getting all the different suggestions, each one will probably be different, do some research and find hat hardware specs each has get something close.

 

I know that this isn't very much help, but basically you're asking, "What color of car should I buy", there is no one best choice as everyone has a different opinion.

A lot of colleges will also have minimum requirements listed on their website, if a laptop is required for any of their courses.
