I just ordered all the stuff needed to retrofit a Xenon projector on the XJR! So stoked! I ordered:

  • projector
  • ballast
  • bulb
  • shroud + angel eye
  • cabling

I only hope my headlight is big enough to fit the projector...

Man oh man am I angry with one of the dealerships here.  So I'm rebuilding the topend on my Dirtbike, First time I've done it so I just ask the guy to order everything I need.  A month and one week later they finally get my parts in (absolutely disgusting), I ordered a part from the next city over and they had it to me like 2-3 days later.  So I find out that the owner is a douche bag and doesn't order anything in till he gets a shit ton of orders (and still charges me for shipping).  So I'm rebuilding the engine and bam they didn't order one of the fucking topend gaskets so now I have to wait another week for a different Dealership to get the gasket in.  Sooooooo angry right now.

That's exactly why I never order parts through a dealer. If they don't have it in stock I just order it online.

Yea last time I will deal with them, I'll just go with the dealer In St Albert from now on they don't dick around and will overnight the parts.  Worst part is that dealership used to be good but the original Owner sold it >_<

Dealerships are crap. The guy at our dealership is nice as a bloke, like as in if he was your mate i could seer him being a legend, but when you see him in his shop he's a dick head. He charged my mate $60 for a bloody clutch lever for his KX250f, $20 more and he could have bought an unbreakable titanium lever. I was looking at a motorbike he has in the store and he's like $3000 and it's yours today (and i said nah already got a bike) and he kept saying how it was good and everything. Only ever met 2 nice salemens or people at dealerships.

The dealership I deal with in St Albert is great, I was looking for a new float bowl gasket so I went to the earlier "bad" dealership and they said they couldn't get the gasket as it was KTM only so I was like ok fair enough, So I call up Riverside Motorsports (in St Albert) and they say ya no problem you'll have it tomorrow we'll overnight it on the greyhound.  Sure enough the next day its in my hand, and then that's when I get even more angry with the bad dealership on the package for the float bowl gasket says Suzuki, Yamaha, KTM (the bad dealership is a yamaha dealership, so I guess there's some Yamaha, Suzuki and KTM bikes that use this Keihin Carb?) So I paided an extra $20 for them to overnight it to me which is fair cuz they had to send it like 450 km to me when that crappy dealer could have gotten it if they looked harder.

Only difference I really notice between my KTM and the Japanese bikes of the same year is the KTM is more expensive (including replacement parts) and comes with a few parts that are aftermarket for the Japanese bikes (Renthal Fat bars, VForce reeds, Tripple clamps, Hydraulic Clutch).

So, yesterday the one and only @Whiskers was de-virginised in the act of driving a motorcycle! Turns out an XJR1300 is quite the bike to start on :P

Also, perfect weather for a lunch break ride

If anyone in the UK wants a cheap winter hack for £450 I have an ER-5 going, i need to sell it before the 15th of this month as I'm moving out and there will be no room for it, it's a 1998 bike so it has war wounds lol pm me for more info if interested. I didn't even know there was a motorcycling section on here, I'm an ex bike mechanic and the ER was a project bike, spent loads on it getting it fit for the road again, who would of thought a fuel tap would cost in excess of £70!!!

Spending 3hours on a bus to and from work when riding a motorcycle would only take 20 minutes each way, all because I can't afford a bike due to my partner being f***ing pathetic with $100+ nails and spending thousands on f***ing clothes.

Mate it's ridiculous and they couldn't even come close to justifying it.

But have fun defending your decision to spend a few extra dollars on a bloody bag of chips or something!

So this is what me and my dad were doing on his 1995 Yamaha FZR600R FoxEye model bike

we had to replace the swing arm , the sprocket carrier bearing went a while back and the chain came off at about 15mph which locked the back wheel and twisted the hell out of the old swing arm

so my dad got a replacement from ebay for £30 , good deal tbh

and i spent 3 hours with a wire attachment on an angle grinder to take it back to metal and respray it , aswell as make new end caps for the chain adjusters . came out pretty good imo :P
