Cheap? Durable? Decent?

cooljoe30

Hey guys,

I confess.

I have sinned. For the past 3 years every 6 weeks I have been buying those cheap shit $10 headphones from Wal-mart and throwing them out the second one it the buds fail. But today no more. Which is why i have come to you.

I need some decent headphone that are under $50, decent sound quality(As long as it best the cheap ass bud im ok) and most importantly they need to be able to take a beating. If im spending 50 I want something that either lasts at least 6 months or i can RMA when it breaks.

Thanks guys.

These have kinda died down in popularity, but you can't really beat the durability o detachable cables and solid metal frame. CHC Silverado. Thinking about picking up a pair to deal with a noisy environment (my ATH-M50's are not that good at noise isolation).

Internets Machine: Intel 4690k w/ Be Quiet! Pure Rock 4.7Ghz. MSI Krait z97. 16GB Crucial Ballistix Sport Ram. MSI GTX 970 SLI 1520mhz. 500GB Samsung EVO 840  & 3TB WD Blue Drive. Rosewill 1000w Modular PSU. Corsair Air 540

My Beats Yo: Desktop:SMSL SA-160 Amp, KEF Q100 w/ Dayton 100w Sub Theater: Micca MB42X-C x3, MB42X x2, COVO-S x2 w/Dayton 120w Sub Headphones:  HIFiMan HE-400i, PSB M4U2, Philips Fidelio X2, Modded Fostex T50RP, ATH-M50, NVX XPT100, Phillips SHP9500, Pioneer SE-A1000, Hyper X Cloud 1&2, CHC Silverado, Superlux 668B

All Koss products have a lifetime warranty. People have sent PortaPro's in a decade after purchase and received a replacement. They don't make any IEMs, but the KSC75 clips-ons are only $15 on Amazon.

Are we talking IEMs or headphones?

Because...

https://www.massdrop.com/buy/ostry-kc06a-inner-ear-earphones

They are on massdrop, and are pretty good, especially for the price

Specs: 4790k | Asus Z-97 Pro Wifi | MX100 512GB SSD | NZXT H440 Plastidipped Black | Dark Rock 3 CPU Cooler | MSI 290x Lightning | EVGA 850 G2 | 3x Noctua Industrial NF-F12's

Bought a powermac G5, expect a mod log sometime in 2015

Corsair is overrated, and Anime is ruined by the people who watch it

If you are going for IEM's I am very satisfied with my SoundMAGIC E10 with Comply tips. I take the every time I have to go into work. Great noise isolation, and very durable build (even comes with a carrying case). I will say that I am satisfied with these being my only IEM's. My headphone collection however, will continue to grow...

Get the Corsair HS1's. Fits your budget and all your specifications. Hell, I used to buy cheap headphones like you and then I went for the HS1's which blew me away for how much of a difference it was compared to what I used to get. I just got the Sennheiser PC 350 SE (after having the HS1's for years) which is essentially Game Zero and, while it does have slightly better sound + mic, it's construction is nowhere near as sturdy or as comfortable as the HS1's (or other Corsair headphones).

It's an old model by now so you might have some trouble finding them. You could try looking for a newer model or if you live in Surrey, BC I could sell you my old ones :P
