I had a crush many years ago who also lost her life to a drunk driver. I'm for individual freedoms, but those who abuse those freedoms to harm others I have zero tolerance for.

The only thing you can do is remember him as he was. I know at first you're going to be cold and in shock before it actually sets in. There is no shame in crying when it does. I'm sorry this had to happen.

i was with one of my friends working on a project when i got the message. as soon as i read it i just stared at my phone and he asked what was wrong. was bawling before i could even look up at him.

Well..different people react differently to trauma. The last major deaths I've dealt with were my dad 3 years ago on Sept 19th and my cat of 13 years who passed this past Sept 20th. Both from cancer. It was mostly "This can't be real" followed by random moments of sorrow. Keep his spirit alive by doing things you both loved to do.

Wow... I uh...

I'm sorry...

I cant really say much.

Is it okay if I say that I'll pray for your heart to go on? Will I not get flamed for it?

I cant imagine this even happening to any of my friends...

I just.

I'm sorry...

That this happened...

I'm really sorry dude :( I've heard too many shitty stories of drunk driving accidents recently. Me and my dad get extremely pissed off whenever were in the car and we hear about this kinda shit.

Remember the good times you had with him and honor him the way he would want you to.

thanks man, everyone here really means a lot to me. everyone i know is in the same shape as me. so its good to talk to people not screwed up by this thing.

I know what it's like to loose friends, family.

I lost my grandfather to an infection after he won a battle with leukemia (the nurses wouldn't give him any antibiotics!), I was shaken up really bad.

I lost a family friend as well, she was 16 too. she was born with a heart defect, and it just... gave out.

Condolences. Try not to think about him too much. Go to the funeral and be a man, saying a speech.

I am so sorry mate. It is never easy to lose a friend like this. I lost a mate in similar circumstances back in 2007. The only advice I can give you is to talk about him with friends. Remember the good times and rejoice in those memories. If you have any old pictures or videos, try get a copy to his parents. They will appreciate it very much.

Stay strong.

Sorry to hear that.

Remember the times you had and be happy you had them.

A friend of mine had a similar experience earlier this year when his cousin died in a car accident.

Trevor Potten was an amazing person in cadets, performing at parades with everyone else.

At the end of the summer, he even won an award for the Top Intermediate Musician at Kilo, which was Pipes&Drums.

Most of the people at Juliet respected him, as well were friends with him. I was not friends with him, but I knew him because he would always be performing with us at the parades.

The way he played his bagpipes was amazing. The driver who killed him should be regretting what he or she did to us by having someone close to us leaving us. Besides being an amazing musician, he was a person who helped and was passionate in what he did.

RIP Trevor Potten!

We will miss you!
