What are you currently saving up for?

melias24

More SSDs.  My goal is to completely eliminate mechanical storage everywhere but my server.  I'm keeping my eye on the prices of those mx100s...

My currently planned upgrades to my system:

My system itself is good enough so I am now focusing on peripherals like:

1.  A better monitor (1080p, IPS),

2. Corsair Vengeance K70 (RGB?),

3.  Better headphones (m40x) & desk microphone (blue snowball?)

i5 4670k (can OC to 4.4Ghz) - Hyper 212 evo w/ AC MX2 - XFX Radeon R9 280X8GB ADATA XPG V2 DDR3-1600 - MSI Z87 G41 - Corsair CX600M 600W PSU - 1TB HDD - 120GB SSD

A 980 and a new monitor to go with it, and a bass boat down the street from me for $4800. I've got 3600 saved, and I'm going to try to bring him down to 4k.

Both of my hobbies are excessively expensive, fishing and computers both boast very high priced equipment.  All my rods, reels, line, and tackle all probably cost upwards of 1500 dollars.

Personal Rig v3: AMD Ryzen 7 2700X | Noctua NH-U14S | Gigabyte B450 Aorus Pro ITX | Zotac GTX 2070 8GB | 16GB G-Skill Trident DDR4 3200MHz | EVGA Supernova 750B | Phanteks Enthoo Evolv ITX

Peripherals: Sennheiser HD518 & Classic ModMic | Corsair K65 Luxe | Zowie EC2 | ASUS VG259QM  |  ASUS VG278E | Klipsch ProMedia 2.1

Just bought an ssd. Saving up for a GPU

I cannot be held responsible for any bad advice given.

I've no idea why the world is afraid of 3D-printed guns when clearly 3D-printed crossbows would be more practical for now.

My rig: The StealthRay. Plans for a newer, better version of its mufflers are already being made.

The build I want is odd, because I want to start smallish everywhere I can, and get the less-upgraded parts 9the high cost ones) first

-specs

-intels pentium anniversary, eventually upgraded to a 4790k, or a next generation CPU (broadwell)

-Ill buy a decent air cooler from a friend, but I plan on doing a custom water loop later

-EVGA GTX 660 superclocked ($140 for this GPU and that aircooler from a friend) will upgrade to a 980 later

-8gbs of corsair vengence ram, upgraded to 16 later

- ASUS Maximus Formula 7 (going expensive here because of the look, features, and the Z97 platform should support broadwell for future-proofness

- 800 Watt Rosewill lightening (again, mostly looks, but it is a really good PSU anyway)

- 128 GB ssd for the boot drive (I have like 5 external drives, so ill save money and use those, after that I will have a small home server for the rest of the storage

The idea is to get a good system running now, and spending the bulk of my money on the motherboard, and just buy new parts and sell the old (like the CPU and GPU)

:)

Hey guys, (sorry if there is a similar thread, admin please delete this thread if there is) i'm just interested, what are you guys saving up for? I'm currently saving up for a sli compatible board, with a green colour scheme. (Need some help to find one), but after i save up for that i'm going to save up for a BenQ gaming monitor, then a GTX 770 for sli.

What about you guy's? What are you saving up for?

~Elias

either Trip to japan for a semester, x99 ddr4 workstation build with 3 gtx780 6gb (still going to do heavy gaming), or a custom m-itx water cooled silent home theater pc.

Nothing to see here, move along
