Which Fallout should I buy

Ivyk

I want to buy a Fallout game because a lot of my friends recommend me buying it.

Some people say New Vegas is better than 3 and I was wondering what your opinion about that is.

PS: I have never played a Fallout game before so I have no knowledge of the story.

Edit: Added a poll.

New Vegas !

Ranger_at_New_Vegas_entrance.jpg

It has better gameplay, more interesting characters (not that 3 doesn't have those,it just doesn't have as many).

Get Fallout 1.  it's' and isometric RPG from the '90s

Seriously though: My recommendation would be Fallout: New Vegas.

In my opninion it has a better story line (though it doesn't have Liam Neeson), a better combat system and a more interesting world.

However Fallout New Vegas feels a lot more like an RPG than Fallout 3 does. There is a lot of walking, talking and not as much combat when compared to Fallout 3.

I found 3 and new vegas both pretty good. New vegas I found to be more fun to play. I wouldn't say "better" but I just had more fun with it. They are both EXTREMELY similar.

Why not all 5? The clavicle collection is like $20,and then the GOT for 3 and NV are like $20 each as well. That's 5 games for the price of one.

if you want the shooter, its 3 or NV, if you want the strategy...whatever its 1 and...2? think there was a 3:rd one as well but i cant remember (Not fallout 3) different name.

Anyway i vote New Vegas, don't forge the Mods!

It's Fallout: Tactics you are thinking of.

I would say start with New Vegas. It's only a marginal improvement over Fallout 3, but it's still improved.

Start with Vegas. I can only tell from my own experience but I loved both of the games to death. I think I spent 450 hours or more on Vegas and all the addons.

I really prefer a lot of stuff in New Vegas to 3. The repairing system is much better in New Vegas IMO. I think generally it's a more digestible game too. Definitely recommend it.

I say get both, but start with Fallout 3.

Personally I enjoyed Fallout 3 way more than NV. The story just felt more involved.

I like how, at the time of my arrival, the count is 10-9.

I personally preferred Fallout: New Vegas (probably because I played it first), but I felt like there was much more to do in Fallout 3. I actually voted for Fallout 3 because there is a quest that you can do where you find an old woman's violin and unlock a radio station where she plays it for you. If you want to feel like you'll never run out of things to do/find, go for Fallout 3, otherwise, Fallout: New Vegas is quite fun. You probably can't go wrong here as long as this is a game type you like.

ive played both games

Fallout 3, i really enjoyed the whole way through. the main story was fantastic, and the 5 DLC expansions tied in well.

I ended up putting about 130 hours into it

New Vegas, was pretty good, roughly 85 hours and still to finish, but i feel that F3 was a much better game, I think because bethesda made the game versus obsidion(?) who made NV.

I'd like Bethesda to make the next Fallout game, (Fallout 4??)

Looking for a job

You can't ask for subjective advice without laying down your personal tastes.

Buy Fallout 3 for typical wow-effects and hollywood writing. It's easier to stomach, popcorn fun. More of a "post-apo" feeling atmosphere, some sort of Mad Max-like locations.

Buy Fallout NV if you above all value writing of the story/world and keeping to the original lore. It also added some minor gameplay features, like weapon modding or "hardcore" mode.

In any case, I would strongly suggest playing through the entire series or at least Fallout 3 and then FNV. That's why I voted for F3.

Plural of PC is PCs, not PC's. Plural of CPU is CPUs, not CPU's. Plural of LED is LEDs, not LED's.

You can build computers really well, not real good.
