Good news form nvidia about DSR tech.

I ask nvidia if DSR tech will be supported on GTX 680 or other cards... and they says to me "Support for other GPUs is coming in the future." :)

DSR will need a ton of power to run, since it's downsampled 4K afterall, i don't think a single 680 will be able to handle it smoothly

Unsurprising, people have been downsampling for a while now, it will be good for them to release software to allow people to do this more easily but I'm not sure if some older cards will have the VRAM to pump 4K.

 

Excluding SLI configs, I don't really see a viable use for the tech on a single card 600 series or older.

4k will not be the only option obviously. Improvements are noticeable when downsampling from 2560x1440 to 1920x1080 so those with weaker setups will still be able to take advantage of the feature.
