Ask a Mormon guy anything! (Serious or Otherwise)

LDX

How much money do so save each year on hard drives since you don't watch porn? And what do you do with that money?

Hehe I kid I kid, you seem like a rather respectful guy and I can respect that. I have a very good friend that's a mormon. We don't see eye to eye on everything, but he's a very laid back and respectful guy.

On the topic of the forum though, what are your rig specs :D

Dude I don't even know what the question was but there's no need to get into religious/moral debate. Everyone has different beliefs, none of them are right or wrong, and we all just need to respect that and not try to be keyboard warriors because it doesn't change anything.

Have you ever questioned your own beliefs? Do you hold your own beliefs due to a "personal connection" with God or is it more of a cultural upbringing? If you ever want to look outside the box, you should try some reading material such as God is not Great by Christopher Hitchens or The selfish gene by Richard Dawkins. I think people should be just as educated on conflicting beliefs as they are about their own, otherwise their criticisms can be vapid.

I do it all the time, I actually enjoy learning different points of view, and also going thru' apologetics about christianity and my own religion

and I dont pretend to have all the answers and even when there is and there will be always things that doesnt make any sense I enjoy

comparing points of view becuase it makes me understand people.... I participate in religious forums all the time where I have the chance

to learn the criteria and the arguments of many religions and non believers and I have to tell you that the most interesting arguments usually

comes from non believers, I am sick and tired of fanatic narrow minded people and I have found them even in my own religion

When Jesus said: The truth will set you free

Im sure he wasnt talking only about religion, but all the knowledge available today and in the near future, the Bible and the mormonism itself reccomends you

to go thru all kinds of material and collect the goodness within...

About the cultural upbringing thing, perhaps when I was younger I let myself believe what others believed... In mormonism we call that "Borrowed faith"

one of the main issues explained in mormonism is to learn how to acquire a personal testimony of the things that we believe..... and how to get to knwpo if its true or not

Even when I went through many articles and debates of the authors you mentioned I have never went through a whole book from them. But if find a spanish audiobook

I promise I will go thru the whole thing..... Currently i cant find the time to read really much because of my work.

I admire Hitchens and Dawkins and I think the world had lost great thinkers when they passed away...
