what are the main differences between z75 and z77

how similar to each other are they? z75 is about £10 cheaper and i am on a tight budget, so it would be a great favor if someone were to help me differentiate between the two

The only difference I am aware of is the PCI lane configuration. Z77 offers:

  • 1 x 16x or
  • 2 x 8x or
  • 2 x 4x + 1 x 8x

Z75 only offers the first two and doesn't offer the dual 4's and single 8.

I think Z boards are all overclockable anyway so I'd imagine the Z75 having some features removed compared to the Z77, I've not used any of those so I'm not sure what to really say but if you are on a budget I'm sure you can find a decent Z77.
