That writer is the tabloid journalist in the making. Completely useless article on a completely useless site based on 9 emails from different people, taken without context or without telling us who they communicated too. Im not saying there isn't a problem with game reviewers and developers, but this idiot is really going all TMZ in his reporting.

So a little research confirmed this. The writer of this article is a massive dickhead.

"Controversy

Yiannopoulos received criticism in 2009 for tweeting that he hoped the police "beat the shit out of those wankers" at the G20 protests, and then deleting the tweet after a protestor was killed.[21] He later pointed out that he could never have known in advance "via clairvoyance" about the death of Ian Tomlinson and that his tweet was sent in anger about another protester.

Controversy followed his appearance at the TechCrunch Europe GeeknRolla conference in 2009, during which he was criticised for remarks[22] described as "men and women are different, men are better at tech, deal with it" by another participant in the conversation.[23]

On 18 July 2012, Yiannopoulos had a public argument on Twitter with Zoe Margolis, author of Girl with a One-Track Mind. He commented: "We write about how tech is changing the world around us. You write about how many cocks you've sucked this week. Back off." and later added: "Is there a difference between writing about sex for money and having sex for money? Not really. What a grubby, humiliating way to make rent."[2]"

Seriously. This person said these things in public. His former tech blog apparantly also owns thousands to former employes so he is a lovely human being

Ofcourse everybody knows that the zoe story is true, but that doesn't make the rest of the article and  all the wild conclusions correct. His childish writings is hard to take serious.

Because the Quinn story is real, doesn't mean guilt by association and those emails doesn't mean that those reporters are guilty of the same as the journalist who had sex with Quinn.

This seems like a hitjob, and looking at the authors past is a good way to determine whether or not that could be the case.

kthxbye

If any journalists justifies any of it then yes they are guilty by association. Many, including official statements from kotaku, are doing exactly that so they can all collectively go fuck themselves and eat shit until they die.

And I will await articles from other people to confirm that before trusting a person with this track record.l

Honestly I am so sick of the entire subject, it's pointless, it's drama, it's unnecessary and frankly, who cares...?

Or Is that just me?

I want to say the same, but I've followed this too closely. There is legit so much shadyness in the background that it's insane. The side that claims to be victim is also doxxing supporters of the #GamerGate hashtag on Twitter. Thunderf00t got his Twitter account suspended because of Anita Sarkeesian filing complaints, even though the guy only made like 2 tweets since he was doing actual rl scientific work only to come back to this. The amount of drama is too vile to ignore. I care, but only because I'm seeing the toxic nature of what seemed like an innocent hobby that is gaming. This goes far beyond some chick being slutty with 5 guys cheating on her BF. Even 4chan now is home to mass censorship.

And I will await articles from other people to confirm that before trusting a person with this track record.l

This is more than enough of a chicken shit cop out to disgust me before even reading the article in this thread:

On March 31, Nathan published the only Kotaku article he's written involving Zoe Quinn. It was about Game Jam, a failed reality show that Zoe and other developers were upset about being on. At the time, Nathan and Zoe were professional acquaintances. He quoted blog posts written by Zoe and others involved in the show. Shortly after that, in early April, Nathan and Zoe began a romantic relationship. He has not written about her since. Nathan never reviewed Zoe Quinn's game Depression Quest, let alone gave it a favorable review.

Given the information available to us both from Nathan and all sources presented online, I have no reason to believe any further action need be taken. The situation is fraught for all involved, including our readers, whose trust is paramount; inquiry is always welcome

http://kotaku.com/in-recent-days-ive-been-asked-several-times-about-a-pos-1624707346

There you have it, Kotaku officially accepting there was a pretty fucking inappropriate relationship and trying to minimize it and justify by saying "They slept together like 2 days after the article was published, "thank you" sex is totally not a big deal"

So like I said, for that alone Kotaku, the writter and any "journalist" who remotely tries to justify that action can proceed to eat shit and die like I said, regardless of your pointless attempt to draw attention to irrelevant stuff about 1 article you don't like.

Never said the relationships weren't inappropriate but this was not 100 emails from one person but one or a few from several different people. Im just arguing that every single person in that articles has been judged based on that single email. I don't think thats enough evidence to claim that they too have inappropriate relationjships.

I don't argue that, I'm just saying that the overall reaction from the journalists has been poor and overall forgiving of serious offenses to their profession: Even if not involved or not explicitly condoning things (which mind you, some like Jim Sterling have explicitly condoned fucking with their subjects) If they want the trust implied in being a journalist they need to publicly condemn inappropriate sexual relationships and undisclosed conflicts of interest.

Until then they're in my eyes no better than fanboy trolls and need to we'll, eat Shit and die

There's definitely some depth to this rabbit hole. There's corruption throughout the industry, with threats and censoring to those denouncing that corruption. I do agree that Milo is a shit-stirrer at times, so take the article with a grain of salt. Seems that it'd be quite easy to deny the claims with proof if they were false.
