I my be one of the only but im really really really love how nvidia went about there card launch $530 for there flag ship good job nvidia good job. i rather buy 4 of these then 4 xbones lol or ps4s lol.4K here we come!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Edit: just spent money on my last build so i'm not looking to upgrade right now, maybe around boxing day but in the meantime,  I'll have to just stick to my r9 270x

there isn't any need for the cards so far, if anything the 900 series are pure over kill. very few games will demand that much power unless your going to 4k

just think the other cards will have even more of a price drop so u might beable to get a nice upgrade cheaper then you think

i want to play 4k but idk how much my i7 4790k will handle i think it will only run two of these at max maybe 3 but looks like x99 here we come

The 970 actually interests me more. When they OC'd the Asus unit, it actually beat the 780 Ti. Which is nuts.

4790k wouldn't bottleneck sli 980's

Or you want to ensure that min FPS stays above 60 all the time.  Also if you wanna max everything out.  Nothing is overkill in PC gaming.  There are always ways to tax your GPU.

Gonna hold out on the 900-series and go with Maxwell's die shrink. 

 

If the performance gains on this generation are to be believed, then the next generation will be insane.

there is such thing as over kill, 290's and 780's can already handle games find nvidias just going all out with this generation for no reason

I have 2 7950's in CF and it beats the 780Ti's.  I still find it's not enough.

Don't see how a single core GPU can be overkill though, I see plenty of needs that don't involve 4K that would require this GPU.
