No Option to enable SLI!?!?!?

Rageodontist

Hi, I have two gtx 760's from gigabyte currently in my system. just a few days ago SLI was working great! just today I realized that I wasn't getting the option to enable SLI anymore. The bridge is on and both cards are working fine. Any ideas?

thanks!

Are your drivers up to date?

Also try removing each card and running with only one. One of them could be dead.

I do have the latest drivers, I even reinstalled them. I have not removed one card at a time yet because there both water cooled and it be kind of a pain. I just want to make sure that I exhaust all other options first. right before this problem started happening I switch my sound card from a PCi-e 1x to a pci-e 8x slot. do you think that could have done anything?

Maybe one of your cards was DOA?

That happened to me on my last motherboard and I wasn't able to resolve it. I figured something happened to the motherboard for the GPU to not work properly in the PCI slot.

Had to buy another motherboard :l

He said that it was working fine before, so of course it does.

Switch it back, maybe it's taking lanes from an x16 slot and not making SLI work.

Nvidia requires 8x to enable SLI, many motherboards share the lanes between the slots, chaging the sound card to a shared x8 slot could have made the other lane switch to x4, making SLI not possible. Remember Haswell CPUs only provide 20 PCIe lanes, if the motherboard has a PLX chip it can support more, so it doesn't matter if the board has 7 16x slots, the lanes are 20+a possible PLX chip.
