Hi. Sorry if this is in the wrong place

So, back-story time. I wanted to do something productive the last two weeks of my summer vacation, but I wanted it to be meaningful.

I wanted to give back to this awesome community.

If it weren't for you guys, Linus, Luke, Logan, or Wendell, I would never be where I am today.

I decided to go with a simple game.

So, here it is

 

The LTT Game   *WIP*

So, what do you do in this game? Dig. Where? I don't know. I haven't got that far in the design process

Goal? Level up, earn gold, and kill monsters....and dig

This is a side-platform game

You get random weapons, digging utilities, and destructible terrain.

You can level up your character by buying chests filled with power ups.

You can choose from a variety of different characters, with different abilities(not let implemented)

 

Linus

The power of the space

Faster attack speed, due to decreased size

 

 

 

Luke

The power of sexy

Stronger attacks, due to increased size

 

 

 

 

Logan

The power of Beer

More health, due to beer

 

 

 

Wendell

The power of invisibility

More defence, due to screens protecting him

 

 

 

Pistol

The power of Women

More money comes out of enemies and crates

It is an exe. is it a virus?  No

BUGS!    Yes, there will be bugs. This is a Work In Progress

Mac/Linux Version?   I will eventually make those versions

WASD to move

Right click to dig--after getting shovel

Left click to shoot--after getting weapon

 

 

The music may, or may not be copyrighted, so if someone could point me to some free 8bit music, that would be awesome

 

 

What do you guys think?  Should I continue it, or should I bury it with the rest of the ET games?

I updated the topic to include controls

When you get into the game, after you select a character, go to the right side of the screen to pick up your digging device, then you may dig downwards to begin the game

I think you should reduce the amount of kickback when mining tho, and in the future updates add more characters and different abilities to make them more unique.

I guess I should give a little update:

 

I removed all of the "lame" guns, and are not replacing them with bigger, more bad-ass guns

    -Flame thrower

    -Electric gun

Re balancing of the powerups

Started to add character powers

Here is a log of what is updated(does not include everything. I just sometimes forget to record what I did):

 

Changes:

-New enemies

-Overhauled guns

     -Added helpful tutorial screens to teach you how to use the weapons

-Deleted some of the other guns

-Power ups for characters have been added

-Cleaned up the item/chest power ups

-Added online high scores

-Added xbox controller support

-New Boss

-Fixed some bugs

-Added santa hats

-Improvements to the terrain generation

-Added new sound tracks

-Reduced the file size

 

-Added/Fixed suggestions

-Lower shovel push back  @rockdud908

-Added online local co-op support

-Emphesis on the word, local

-If you want to try playing across the internet, go ahead.

      -You do need to port forward. The port is: 1224(tcp)

 

 

-Change of controls: Esc to pause

-I did this, because one of my teachers, who is used to fps, kept on pressed space. He paused the game like every 5 seconds.

 

-Secret dubstep mode

TNT Gun

Absorb and blast TNT! Blow up everything in sight!

 

 

Flame Thrower

Re-Toast your foes to death

 

 

Rocket Launcher

Blow those monsters away!

 

 

Plasma Gun

Hurts just as much as getting burned alive

Holy crap it's time to play

Okay, after looking at stats for this game, I noticed that nobody has gotten past floor 6. The boss appears near floor 4-6.

So, nobody has gotten past the boss. Do I need to nerf the boss? (This will be one of many bosses in the future)

I just got to the 121 floor, I found the boss quite easy.
