Microsoft to merge with mojang ? ? ?

Theklman11

http://www.pcworld.com/article/2604678/microsoft-may-buy-minecraft-maker-mojang-for-2-billion.html

wow so it seems we are on the verge of an intresting merge? (rhymes much)

basically there aren't any comments from either sides yet, but ill keep this updated, im intrested to  see how this turns out

how do you guys think it'll turn out ? , new markuss persson game exitement ? i would like to see mojangs attitude infect microsoft as opposed to the other way around which would basically make it awesome , much better windows coming soon if that happens , or nothing happens and microsoft just kinda leaves them alone but feeds them money nibbles

Please no MC has been going downhill lately this would just be the nail in the coffin!

muh specs

Gaming and HTPC (reparations)- ASUS 1080, MSI X99A SLI Plus, 5820k- 4.5GHz @ 1.25v, asetek based 360mm AIO, RM 1000x, 16GB memory, 750D with front USB 2.0 replaced with 3.0  ports, 2 250GB 850 EVOs in Raid 0 (why not, only has games on it), some hard drives

Screens- Acer preditor XB241H (1080p, 144Hz Gsync), LG 1080p ultrawide, (all mounted) directly wired to TV in other room

Stuff- k70 with reds, steel series rival, g13, full desk covering mouse mat

All parts black

Workstation(desk)- 3770k, 970 reference, 16GB of some crucial memory, a motherboard of some kind I don't remember, Micomsoft SC-512N1-L/DVI, CM Storm Trooper (It's got a handle, can you handle that?), 240mm Asetek based AIO, Crucial M550 256GB (upgrade soon), some hard drives, disc drives, and hot swap bays

Screens- 3  ASUS VN248H-P IPS 1080p screens mounted on a stand, some old tv on the wall above it.

Stuff- Epicgear defiant (solderless swappable switches), g600, moutned mic and other stuff.

Laptop docking area- 2 1440p korean monitors mounted, one AHVA matte, one samsung PLS gloss (very annoying, yes). Trashy Razer blackwidow chroma...I mean like the J key doesn't click anymore. I got a model M i use on it to, but its time for a new keyboard. Some edgy Utechsmart mouse similar to g600. Hooked to laptop dock for both of my dell precision laptops. (not only docking area)

Shelf- i7-2600 non-k (has vt-d), 380t, some ASUS sandy itx board, intel quad nic. Currently hosts shared files, setting up as pfsense box in VM. Also acts as spare gaming PC with a 580 or whatever someone brings. Hooked into laptop dock area via usb switch

Notch is chairman of the board at Mojang.

He has opinion input, he does not control the actions of the company.

Hmm, I can see this being bad and good. Things like console exclusivity and misdirected priorities for the sake of guaranteeing sales would be bad, however I haven't really been interested in Minecraft since the Beta 1.8 update, it's seemed to have just bloated up with useless content from there.

Having Microsoft own Mojang and give Minecraft some focus and clear direction for the games development, or even the choice to stop development and finalise the game as a complete product could be a really good thing as well.

I'm not sure about the effect it would have on Mojang's other titles though.

CPU- 4690k @4.5ghz / 1.3v    Mobo- Asus Maximus VI Gene   RAM- 12GB GSkill Assorted 1600mhz   GPU- ASUS GTX 760 DCUII-OC

Storage- 1TB 7200rpm WD Blue + Kingston SSDNow 240GB   PSU- Silverstone Strider ST75F-P

i don't want to see mojang influence MS, I don't need a fucking voxel based OS that is so low resolution

Minecraft runs at your monitors resolution though , I don't get WTF your talking about.

Textures are 16 by 16 but you can change those and there is in game support for changing them.

Minecraft does have a low polygon count though.
