What would be an upgrade from Corsair H105?

StormEye

I havent really thought much about new cooling for my new Haswell-E build.

Was just gonna go with H105, just like my current 4960X build, but just want to ask if there is anything better.

I am not going to go custom loop, so within AIO cooler is there anything that would be considered an upgrade from H105?

I would keep it dude. The H105 is one of the better performing AIO coolers besides the h110 nzxt kraken x61 and swiftech h220x(and even then it's only a couple of degrees cooler)

Life.exe is missing

it won't be considered an upgrade, more like a sidegrade. the x61 will prolly be a few degrees better, but it's not worth dropping the money for that few degrees.

unless, you need a new cooler for a separate build, then the x61 would be good.

Yea, it will be a complete new build.

Will be still using my current 4960X build for other purposes, but will change my main rig to the new build.

in terms of aio, the x61 or H105 would be the best. but the x61 is pretty pricey aswell.

try the H220x if you plan on expanding to a full loop

H-220X or Corsair h110 (which apparently isn't even made by corsair....because reasons?)

Honestly I'd say a custom water cooling loop. AIOs can't really top custom water cooling.

I actually couldn't underclock my 5 year old GPU to make it as slow as a next-gen console.

Thanks for the input.

If I had the money, I'd mail you my h110 for free and go buy an h220x, it's upgradable and in my opinion looks awesome.

I went through much the same thought process when buying my AIO. The H105 is superb and in my opinion the price to performance ratio just doesn't work out if you go more expensive, unless you want pure aesthetics in which case the H220x is hard to beat.

Custom loop or the 360mm AIO options eg Thermaltake Water 3.0 Ultimate or Swiftech 320. Although the Corsair H105 cooler is still good.
