After its routine pre-show teasers, ASUS' first smartwatch has finally been unveiled at IFA in Berlin. It's no secret that this Android Wear-powered ZenWatch isn't joining the party of circular watchfaces, but it's certainly done a nice job at packaging the 1.63-inch, 320 x 320 AMOLED touchscreen (as featured on Samsung's Gear Live). The body consists of a curved stainless-steel case surrounded by a rose-gold-colored band inset, and the top is dominated by a piece of 2.5D curved Gorilla Glass 3. You also get a genuine stitched-leather strap with a quick-release clasp out of the box, but you can swap it with your own 22mm band to suit your mood.

ASUS really did a good job at aesthetics. Looks very formal and can be easily be used as a wearable in the corporate environment but.... how good is it? that we need to find out

Metal bezel on outside ruins it for me. So far, moto 360 4 lyfe.

Interesting.  I'd like a SmartWatch for Christmas but the Pebble Steel (matte black ofc) seems to take the biscuit.

 

How would this fare in comparison seeing as it seems to be pretty similar to the Gear which I haven't heard great things about.

This watch is pretty awesome, definitely third place for me after the Moto 360 and the LG G R.

I think the Moto 360 might be too big, in which case this this gets bumped up to second place.

From the looks of it, I'm really not liking the bezels.  I am quite curious on the pricing for the product though, and maybe the battery life as well.

Yeah I kind of like how it looks, but at the same time the bezels make it look a bit tacky.

I wish it was a different finish, like black or gunmetal. I think the polished/satin metal looks meh.

I'm going to try to embrace the wearable tech market, just which one do i choose!? I love Asus and this watch looks very good, but then there is the Moto 360 and Pebble Steel. Decisions, decisions...

If I was to buy a smart watch this gen, I would pick LG G-R over the rest. An actual full circle OLED panel display unlike MOTO360 that has a light sensor cutting it off at the bottom.

Looks decent, probably good battery life knowing LG, and it seems on the pictures that the band would be removable which is important for me for watches.

Definitely picking up either this or the moto 360. Will have to wait and see how they both function/battery life etc. before making any decisions.
