Raid 0 or no raid

Hello,

Just wondering if somebody could show me some benchmakrs of the difference in speed between 1, 7200 RPM 1TB drive and, 2 7200 RPM 1TB Drives in RAID 0.

I don't have the benchmarks but I know that it is much faster, or it might be, but if you're thinking of RAID 0 make backups regularly

In theory it should be double the speed, but raid 0 is not reliable unless you back up.

It will greatly improve the speed. That said, I would not do that with mechanical drives. I think you should probably do a mirror, or raid 10.

Scrap the raid unless you already have the drives.

 

Put $100 into an SSD, will be faster than any 2 drive raid 0 setup.

one HDD + one SSD will be much faster.

the speed of HDD raid 0 is almost as fast as first generation Sata 2 SSDs honestly for the price of a Raid 0 setup you may as well just get a 2TB , 3TB or 4TB drive as i see 2tb barracudas for around 80-100$

lol right its almost like people think that manufacturers design their products to fail
