PSU shocking when touched.

So just get parts to build another rig. Want to check all my parts so i plug the PSU to the motherboard with the GPU, RAM and processor. But when i touch any metal parts it's just shock me and the rig won't start. Is my power supply dead?

That's a shockingly bad sign.

That power supply is buggered. Get a decent one like the CS550M if you use only 1 graphics card or the EVGA G2 750/850 for dual graphics card setup.

The power supply obviously isn't grounded. Check to make sure that it's plugged into a 3 prong outlet, and that the outlet itself is properly grounded.

Just get a CX600 and got my GPU plugged in the nmotherboard... Will that affect all my other parts that are plugged in?

That depends. Is there any way the mobo or other components of your rig are touching the case?

 

(maybe you didn't put the mobo standoffs in, etc.)

It's not in the case, it's outside (in the mobo box)

Use a 3 pin power cord

You need to plug it directly into a 3 prong outlet like this:

The bottom, rounder socket is the ground socket.

If you are using a 2 to 3 prong adapter, make sure the little wire coming off the bottom is attached to something metal that is properly grounded by being plugged into one of these. If you are following this properly and you are still being shocked you need to replace you power supply ASAP. Static buildup can quickly damage other components, particularly your processor and graphics card.

I've built 3 PC's, but none for myself... In fact, I'm using an iMac that my dad bought for me as my desktop. Awkward...

Please don't say "SSD drive." By doing so, you are literally saying "Solid State Drive Drive" and causing my brain cells to commit suicide. The same applies to HDD (Hard Disk Drive) and PCIe (Peripheral Component Interconnect Express).

Your best bet is to call someone in to properly install 3 pin outlets, but I understand that this is time consuming and expensive. You should notice a little metal tab on the bottom of your adapter or, even better, a wire coming out of the bottom. If either are missing, DO NOT USE IT. You need to attach this tab via wire to something that is properly grounded. Your best bet is running this wire to something like a metal pipe somewhere in your home.
