I, like many others, am not already financially independent, and when the time came to build my own gaming pc, I had to answer to my parents. I would have built it on my own, since I know how to do it, but my father, a very close-minded, old-fashioned middle-aged angry italian man, said no. It's so complicated to him that he can't accept I can do it (I'm 20 btw).

Wouldn't it be cool if they made a video to show tech-illiterates that nowadays building a pc is very close to doing a puzzle? I dont mean a build guide, those can get a little to specific, but I think you all get what I mean. Just to debunk some myth and maybe give a broader audience access to all this goodness. Cheers

Why don't you show your father on YouTube "how to build a pc".

This depends on the puzzle. If its sudoku then I'm screwed, but if its a word-search or crossword then count me in.

There are some more simple build guides out there that do show how to build a PC in a more basic manor. Austin Evans' latest "how to build a PC" video comes to mind. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rQtUWjgxrd8&list=UUXGgrKt94gR6lmN4aN3mYTg

It's fairly easy as pretty much every part is semi fool-proof (can only be assembled one way). Some people are stubborn and just will not listen to reason, no matter how you put it or how simple you dumb it down for them. I would say, just save up your own money and build it yourself, then show them what you did and how well it works. I bet they'd be impressed. ;)

@Recon97 @gFrenken97 @MEC-777  I know there are already some but I think: 1)they would put in something different and I would like to see how it turns out 2)I think it would be a good thing for their channel, give them some more audience

@Thorium19 I mean a puzzle puzzle :D

That would be a bad idea because it would increase the illusion that PC building is difficult. The reality is that it is easier than it was two years ago and that was piss easy.

@Dude are you referring to my post? In that case I dont understand, I mean the opposite, if not...whazzzzuuuuuuup

Also I think they could give it a humorous side, like they always do in their videos, maybe not the guides, just to make it more appealing for someone that doesnt necessarily understand all the computer talk, and to show that it's really THAT easy

I managed to upgrade my motherboard about 10 years ago (Soyo Dragon II plus or something like that) with my P4 system, and back then I had almost NO IDEA what I was going! It helps if you are mechanically/technically inclined though. I simply took note of what was plugged in where and used common sense (and the manual). ;)

Nah dude (See what I did there?), I meant that PC building has gotten to the point where it's so easy that the hardest part is picking components.

Yeah definitely, in the end I had to go to a shop, I told them what I wanted to pay and they did the rest. If that was not the case I would have spent another month or two picking the compontents...Maybe would have gotten that sweet 750ti, it got out just a couple months after I built my rig :'(

Use a spare old pc you or a friend has laying around then tear it apart then build it in front of your parents.

So why does your father have that much say when you are 20?
