27 inch 2560 x 1440 dispay for gaming

Hi,
I'm a hardcore racing games player and I'm planning to buy a racing sim rig with triple display setup. Could you recommend me a display that I should choose? I've done some research and here are my favourites, but if you know better displays for the same price I'd appreciate it if you shared your knowledge and experience here.

- Dell UltraSharp 27 Premier Color Monitor - U2713H (I can get really huge discounts on Dell displays, even more than 50%)
- BenQ BL2710PT
- ASUS Rog Swift

My PC spec:
GPU: Asus GTX 780
CPU: I7-4770k
Motherboard: Asus Maximus Vi Hero
Power supply: Corsair CX750

I play all kinds of games (but racing most of the time), so I would like the display to perform really well. Is it worth paying that much for Asus display with all that G-Sync, 1ms response time, 144hz and so on? Dell is more expensive than BenQ, but as I mentioned I can get huge discounts on Dell. Will I notice the difference between 1ms and 5/6ms or 144hz and 60hz? Will I be able to run triple monitor with a single GTX 780 or I'll have to buy another GTX 780 to get a proper experience?

1440p can be hard to get 60Hz on a single GTX 780Ti ON JUST ONE MONITOR.

You'll need lower res monitors for the setup or just a 21:9. If you're hardcore about it, you'll probably want higher refresh than 60Hz, too.

i would go for the dell ultrasharp simply because i do not play games competitively. I play just to have fun.. and would much rather dell's awesome IPS panels.

You would need 2-Way, if not 3-Way SLI, to get close I would imagine.

Korean panels can be fine, but remember:

1. High chance of getting one that is damaged out of the box.

2. No way to return/RMA for repairs.

And I assumed you would run at Ultra settings, might work better if you're ok with turning settings down.

Yeah, I made a mistake in the question. I wanted to know whether I can run triple setup with GTX 780 SLI. Of course I'd like to get more than 60Hz, but higher refresh also means higher price.

Dell's, especially if you can get them at a good discount.

Although you are going to want to add another 780 to your rig to get nice smooth frame rates.

Even with 780 SLI I doubt you will have the horsepower to get past 60FPS in triple 1440, a higher refresh rate will not help you.

The swift is too expensive for what it is imo, I'd go for the ultrasharp OR an asus pb278q, that's a great monitor as well. You won't be able to reach high settings with 3 of those though even if you had 2 780s, let alone one, so bare that in mind. You'll need to make a lot of compromises even though racing games are usually prettu lightweight.

Don't ask to ask, just ask... please 🤨

oh yh ofcourse there is a chance mine was fine does seem rather dodgy but i done a lot of research and never heard anything bad except backlight bleed but as someone else said if its not competitive is it really worth the extra money ...

So do you guys recommend 1920 x 1080 instead of 2560 x 1440? I have a single 21,5 inch 1920 x 1080 Dell monitor right now and I feel like it's too small. Would a 27 inch 1920 x 1080 be a better choice?

I think 3 1080p monitors would be a better choice.  3 1440p monitors are harder to run games on then a 4k monitor...

I have a single 290 for my 5760 by 1080 eyefinity setup, and I can't run modern games on all max settings.  gtx 780 sli for 3 1080p monitors would allow you to max out pretty much every game at 60fps, and just one 780 would do an okay job also.

The dell is really nice

I've got one and it works just fine for gaming^^

You can always run more demanding games at 1080p if you see that you're lacking the horsepower to play them at higher resolutions

Yeah, that's an option too, but won't I get any "black rectangles" on the screen? Won't 1920 x 1080 look worse on a 2560 x 1440 screen than on 1920 x 1080 screen?

Dear (insert atheistic substitute for "deity" here) how can you possibly play 1440p BF4 with a 270x? It can almost handle 1080p, but you just did the equivalent of making a baby lift 300 kilos of stuff.

I haven't noticed any "black rectangles" And i haven't noticed anything looking that much worse at 1080p instead of 1440p

Yes, it will. 2560 divided by 1920 is 1 and 1/3, and you cannot use 1/3 of a pixel to display a different color than the other 2/3 of a pixel. This creates terrible blurring and other effects, so 1080p looks best on a 1080p monitor. If you got a 4K monitor, 3840 divided by 1920 is 2, so a 4K monitor can successfully show 1080p without these terrible artifacts.

Your graphics card isn't going to run 3 1440p monitors very well. Not with 3 GB of VRAM. Better to get 3 1080p monitors. In racing games everything's going by so fast that refresh rates are more important than pixels.

I get 60 frames at 1080p on a dual core APU. Ask me how.
